Paul Teutul Jr. Facing Paul Teutul Sr. In A New TV Series?

It seems that cameras could very soon roll again, this time simultaneously in 2 places, Paul Junior & Paul Senior respective shops from where they would face each other. Building bikes?

Can it be that TLC realized that the lawsuit opposing father and son could be the plot they needed to reactivate viewers interest? Anyway, since a new series would bring equal income to each of them, it would be a good way for Paul Junior & Senior to resolve amicably most of their conflicting financial issues .

As I reported, at the first hearings of the lawsuit filed by Senior and counter lawsuit filed by Junior  Justice Lewis Lubell gave both parties 60 days to resolve themselves all disagreements out of court. He asked them “if they want to continue draining money on lawyers or work out their differences like gentlemen?”.  Via this new series all issues may be now be resolved for the benefit of both the Teutuls and of TLC. I hear that shooting of the new series would start April 12th, meaning that a new series probably could not start before this September. At this day, my call to TLC was not returned. To follow…

Senior working for equal pay? Yeah, that will happen…. Buwahahahahahah

Hey TLC- my Dad and I have been feuding for 20 years- can we get a series to sort out our issues? We’ll cut you in for half of the used underwear sales……

Where’s a celebrity plane crash when you need one?

  6. 6 johnny Apr 4th, 2010 at 12:28 pm

tell me who are they blowing to keep this shit going ?when you have master builders still working the industry for the love of bikes and building a real bike that cant get the networks to even look their way ,as much as hugo (go fuckyourself) king became an asshole i think i would watch him over the occ saga………………………

  7. 7 Lyle Apr 4th, 2010 at 12:30 pm

Guys, it’s a TV show and Joe Public could care less about “Master Builders.” They want drama and human dynamics.

  8. 8 John E Adams Apr 4th, 2010 at 1:35 pm

    Lyle,

Maybe – but they don’t bring any of that to the table either!

Not sure this will reslove any issues, will mean a couple more nice paydays for them however -;0)

    Cheers,

Why don’t these guys just dissapear? It’s not even entertainment anymore.

  10. 10 Mike Apr 4th, 2010 at 2:29 pm

Why would you assume they would get equal pay?

Why would you assume that if they did get equal pay, this would somehow resolve the dispute over the value of Jr’s share of OCC?

The claims make no sense to me.

  11. 11 Jeff Nicklus Apr 4th, 2010 at 2:46 pm

If everyone will recall I stated months ago, on this blog, that the break up of the Teutuls was nothing more than a scripted means to an end …. the end of a dying show and the start of a new evening soap opera! Seems I may have been correct all along! The Teutuls way be alot of things but stupid is not one of them!

    Over & Out,

    Jeff

  12. 12 George Bell Apr 4th, 2010 at 3:02 pm

Hey, Mike. Easy to understand. Litigation is in big part, not only the actual OCC share distribution between Jr. and Sr., but future income. Since OCC and Paul Jr. Designs are 2 different entities, at least future income derived directly from the show (fees, royalties and residuals) will be equal because each company will be paid the same anount .New business acquired from the show will benefit both parties. So, it appeases the 2 sides, even partially.

When will Obama put a stop to this madness!!! These turds are a bigger threat to America than Al-Qaeda.

  16. 16 Heavy Metal Apr 4th, 2010 at 9:04 pm

One of the reasons to be in the shop and not in front of the tube. I don’t see any entertainment value in them in the past and not in the future.

  17. 17 Mike Apr 4th, 2010 at 9:29 pm

    George,

But why would you assume that ongoing money paid out would be equal?

Let’s say I participate in a TV show with a famous actor, should I get equal residuals to them? Why? These things are negotiated, aren’t they? Why would anyone assume it would be 50/50?

And if I hired a builder to build me a house and he stiffed me (or I felt he stiffed me), and I sued him… then someone came along and said they were going to do a show about me and the builder working together to build a house… how would that erase the fact that I still feel screwed and still want to win my other legal dispute?

I’m just saying – it may help, it may not… but saying it will help is naive, and thinking the income would be distributed equally is just as likely not to be true as it is to be true 🙂

  18. 18 Brent Apr 4th, 2010 at 9:43 pm

Mike. Because there is no way TLC would make son & father agree if it’s not equal compensation, A residual is income paid to participants actors, cameos, etc for re-runs. You don’t know anything about film production and compensation.

  19. 19 Mike Apr 4th, 2010 at 10:32 pm

Actually Brent, you’ve displayed you don’t know anything about film production and compensation. The Teutels don’t work for TLC, they work for a production company which makes the show and sells it to TLC or discovery or whomever they can sell it to.

You say there is “no way” TLC would “make them agree” if it’s not equal compensation.

Error 1… you don’t know it’s equal compensation
    Error 2… it’s not TLC
Error 3… You have no idea what they would agree to

    Strike 3, you’re out.

  20. 20 Brent Apr 4th, 2010 at 10:41 pm

Mike. You are right, it’s a production company shooting and selling the show to a network. Just misformulation on my side. But royalties are paid by the publisher/broadcaster, not by a production company. Also all merchandise deals were made with Discovert/TLC. The production company has nothing to do with it.. “You have no idea what they would agree to”. Nor you. Probability is equal compensation.

Well, here we are again,i have seen much critics on this issue than any other. Its a old saying,”controversy creates cash”.

This time the cash will be shared by two.

    What does mickey do???

Hope they resolve the issue and continue their work.PEACE.

Is Vince McMahon in charge over at TLC HMMMM. The Teutuls have jumped the shark let them go away and bring on the next show. At least when Texas Hardtails comes back you know up front it’s just not real life, It’s making fun of it.

  25. 25 Bernard Apr 5th, 2010 at 6:47 am

I hope they come back on, I know it won’t be like the old days but those guys were great to watch on TV. I have met them all and they are all really nice guys.

Glad to see so many negative comments about this and that people are sick of this masculine soap opera. Both guys are absolute jerks, what is so entertaining about watching grown men act like they are 12 years old? Oh, I forgot, this is America.

OCC should get picked up by E! Entertainment Channel, they can be sandwiched between…(LOL)…the Kardashians and Kendra.

  30. 30 Scott Apr 5th, 2010 at 10:19 am

Amazing how so many readers who are sick of the whole OCC nonsense play right into the drama. The line between reality and fantasy is blurred by the masses. I have yet to see one thing on the ole boob tube that resembles my reality. Put down the remote and live life for a change.

  31. 31 Harvey Mushman Apr 5th, 2010 at 10:23 am

Hey, it must be fun and make for good conversation; otherwise there wouldn’t be so many posts/opinions on this forum. Of course everyone gets to advertise their own bike building website while voicing their thoughts.

Speaking your mind…..getting free advertisement…..THAT’S AMERICA BABY!!!

  32. 32 JoAnn Bortles Apr 5th, 2010 at 10:30 am

What are the ratings like for their show? Seriously does anyone even watch them anymore? Its been the same old thing for years now, father and son whining and fighting over bike builds.

So boring. I think alot of people are commenting here because like me, they are stunned that the show is still on. Obviously the people that watch the show and keep it alive, are not interested enough in motorcycles to read Cyril’s blog.

  33. 33 Walt Lumpkin Apr 5th, 2010 at 10:46 am

m.bofill: re American Thunder. I received a press release several weeks back that Jay Barbieri and Michele Smith are teaming up for a new show.

  34. 34 J Apr 5th, 2010 at 10:52 am

That’s cool- I like Michele- sex appeal, well practiced and informed, and isn’t the least bit obnoxious- she should be doing much more on TV.

I cannot believe that TLC is so hard up that they would give those idiots shows . They give a bad name to the bike building industry

  38. 38 Jim C Apr 5th, 2010 at 12:01 pm

Wow,I read this blog,I watch the show and I have ridden the bikes. The bikes are as good as anything out there. They are built with Made in the USA products, built by Americans, and it benefits more companies than just OCC. Why is this a bad thing? I go back to my original statement that most of those commenting in the negative are just jealous and pissed off that it is not them on TV making the big bucks. Get over it and try and think outside the box. If you are in the industry then there is probably a way for you to get some kind of benefit to shows like these which bring motorcycles to the main stream buying public. If this is not what you want, then change the channel and move on. I for one am happy that there are shows on TV featuring motorcycles and how they are built. I am thinking that the show will be looking at how they are built, ect.

  39. 39 Conrad Nicklus Apr 5th, 2010 at 12:21 pm

  44. 44 J Apr 5th, 2010 at 2:53 pm

LOL- he was a pretty good desert racer- looked a lot like McQueen, but he was WAY faster….(!)

  45. 45 Fausto Simoes Apr 5th, 2010 at 3:23 pm

It would be cool to see them up on the big screen, maybe an action movie with custom bikes, wild stunts, explosion’s and at least one scene at a strip bar. They could get Jesse James to do a cameo and maybe some of the other builders, add some new and old hollywood stars and sports celebs. Maybe Aerosmith could make a guest appearance. This could be the start of a whole new direction!

  46. 46 Seven Apr 5th, 2010 at 3:39 pm

Of all the talented and interesting people in all the world doing such amazing things, why keep showing these two egocentric fuckwads regurgitating the same nasty bile week after week?

Anyone taking bets on which one of those guys will be on Dancing With The Stars next season?

j wins a free oil change! if your ever in florida….steve mqueen was prevented from racing while he was under studio contracts…so he would enter under an alias of “harvey mushman”

    I promise to break my own rule and watch an episode under the following conditions;

    They handle this like gentlemen.
In an old fashion & formal manner.
    A duel.
    Two pistols.
    Two children.

Yes, one would die, but this is a sacrifice I am willing to bear.

  51. 51 ahotrod Apr 5th, 2010 at 7:02 pm

Someone PLEASE tell tlc that most of us DO NOT want to see that lowlife paul jr, there may be a few vocal jr backside sniffers, but it is a very small number of other lowlifes with very brown noses!!
Do NOT give that scum jr another dime and/or minute of TV time, he is just not needed or wanted by normal humans. It is bad enough that tlc has TV shows with wackjob little people and the other stupid shows, but more jr on TV is going way way too far!!
NO MORE SCUM jr, NO MORE!!!!!!!!!

  52. 52 Jeffrey Apr 5th, 2010 at 7:14 pm

What you guys don’t understand is that the show is not about motorcycles and tageting bikers. It”s about a family looking like the average family giving the appearance of struggling to make it financially. The target is the public at large because many people identify themselves as the Teutuls. So TLC does not care, nor the Teutuls, about what you think if they get the viewership they want.

  53. 53 Paul Apr 5th, 2010 at 7:16 pm

Maybe we can get a production co. to hire on Jesse and Sandra and a few porn stars devlope a story line and sell it to the channels, maybe HBO.
Lord knows we could use a new story line….. and some more interesting characters !!!

    SSDD; David

  55. 55 brian Apr 6th, 2010 at 9:48 am

Now they are just like Kate Gosselin.

Just trying to find a way to keep money coming in.

Wouldn’t be surprised to find Sr. on the next installment of dancing with the stars or celebrity apprentice.

Can’t say I blame them, show business sure beats working for a living.

  56. 56 Mike Apr 6th, 2010 at 10:15 am

    Brent,

Yes, of course the network is the one who pays royalties… to who? Not to the Teutels… to the production company.

And you are right, I have no idea what sort of deal they would work out… nobody does. That is precisely my point… those who are saying it would solve this or that problem, or that it would “probably” be equal have absolutely no basis for saying that.

Reality is that Paul Sr would be negotiating with the production company, as would Paul Jr. OCC is much more well known than Paul Jr. Designs, so maybe Sr should get more (or will think he should get more)…. on the other hand, Jr is probably the more popular/respected builder, so maybe he should get more? or maybe that’s what he will think.

Bottom line is that it is a negotiation. Saying it will be equal is ignorant. That’s like saying two boxers will share in the profits of their match. Yes, they will… but not equally.

Mistake 1 in the article is equal sharing when nobody knows this.

Mistake 2 was suggesting this will solve the Teutels problem, but I see no basis for that at all.

  57. 57 Kustom Kolors Apr 6th, 2010 at 9:00 pm

Look…You guys might be sick of it, but look how many of you read the article and sounded off to the blog…They have you hook, line and sinker! Think about it! YOU CAN”T STOP WATCHING OR READING ABOUT THEM! I too am one of you~ I think JR. is a pompas ASS, but I still read an article about them.

  58. 58 Popper Apr 7th, 2010 at 8:56 am

I have been a fan for a long time and do like the show. Seem’s that people turn on them at the first hint of trouble. Every family has issues thats life. The bikes they build are awesome and you cannot take away from there ability to produce some awesome bikes. If you don’t want to watch thats fine there are millons of fans like myself who will continue to watch and enjoy there show.

  59. 59 Tim Hanlon Apr 7th, 2010 at 9:41 am

Like it or not here they come. As announced on face book today………Get ready! TLC is bringing back American Chopper in the new show “American Chopper: Senior VS Junior” Orange County Choppers is amped up and ready to go. That is the press release, please do not shoot the messenger.

On the left of the workshop we have Jr watching Vinnie build the bike, on the right is Sr is watching Ricky do the very same. End the end of the episode Jr and Sr will bad mouth each other and strut around like utter morons each thinking that they alone are the greatest bike fabricator on the planet.

  62. 62 just my opinion Apr 8th, 2010 at 11:02 am

Funny how most of you claim you don’t like the Tuetel’s and you don’t think they are even builders and would definitely never watch their show but yet you come on here and comment on this subject. Each and every one of you have watched their show at one time or another or you would not know who they are, at least know enough about them to comment. There is more comments on this link than any other on this site maybe that is why the TLC channel thinks people are still interested. I bet most of you would watch their new show, if for no other reason than to be able to come back here and bash it later.
Jeff may have been right. This whole fighting over money bit may have been no more than a launching platform for this new show. Either way the show will make or break on the fact of whether or not people watch it. I bet their show will make it for at least a couple seasons only because drama sells and we all know drama comes with the Tuetel family. I personally wish them well. The fact that they have found success and fame should tell each and every one of you that it is possible for anyone to make it big in America. That is why the rest of the world envies us. If the Tuetel’s can find a way to make their 15 minutes of fame last all day I say good for them, go for it, that is the American way. And if you don’t like their show turn it off.
