Paul Jr.’s Bike is off the hook, going to hard to beat this one.

  2. 2 Ken Dec 6th, 2011 at 12:14 am

A futuristic missle launcher A merry go round toy plane and a badass bike

  3. 3 Rueben Dec 6th, 2011 at 12:19 am

Really!!!! Paul Jr’s bike is hideous. It looks like a huge armored bicycle, you couldn’t even ride it hard. Paul Sr. builds a snowmobile that shoots flames!!!! Are you serious?!!!!! Its a bike build-off people, build a bad a** chopper, bobber, drag bike, whatever. The chopper gods are probably asking, wt* is wrong with these guys. Jesse has my vote. Ride hard, ride loud and be safe.

  4. 4 A Hotrodder Dec 6th, 2011 at 12:47 am

What I see is a badass snowmobile, that I would love to ride in 2ft of fresh snow, a thing that would be seen on a kiddie ride in front of the supermarket, that was put together from parts of a bicycle & parts of a toy airplane pedalcar & a v-twin eng found in a platers junk pile AND a motorcycle themed MOTORCYCLE- good looking MOTORCYCLE Jesse!!!!!

Jesse and his NPR shirt ( what a fag )

  6. 6 Mike Armstrong Dec 6th, 2011 at 1:12 am

Good to see JJ building again! Classic Kool vs. over the top BS…

  7. 7 emd1976 Dec 6th, 2011 at 1:29 am

There is only one bike that can take this, Jesse James build is really impressive and something I’d be proud as F@$k to ride, the other 2 arent bikes, they are toys

  8. 8 Mark Dec 6th, 2011 at 1:29 am

Thing about Seniors build is I never saw the guy – he stopped by with a coffee cup then he rode it like an old f’n man who had no idea what he was doing.

Jason didn’t engineer that bike and frame. They bought some of those tank-track things pre-made for motorcycles, called in the company who puts together pre-made electric kids, then had all the fenders and stuff made… I didn’t see Sr do a damn thing other than stand around and he only spent a few minutes doing that!

Jr… I think his bike is pretty cool. Love or hate him, you have to appreciate the craftsmanship of the bike… although why do they send out for the forks to be made and stuff when he has CNC machines in-house? It makes him look bad, IMO. Why not make it yourself? The wheels were too big – over the top… bike looked like a penny farthing. The theme was cool but they just took it a little bit too far. Should have just gone with normal size mag wheels, without the funky designs. The exhaust in the tank is pretty cool… frame looked good, and i liked the single sided front and rear. Just too big on the wheels… looks like a ghetto hooptie on 24’s.

JJ’s bike was cool. He went overboard patting himself on the back as usual and trashing the other guys… and he was wrong to think Sr is cool.. he ain’t, he’s the douchiest of them all. Jr does have a good eye for design in the end. JJ did a good job on the bike though, it came out looking nice.

At the end of the day, forgetting who built what and what they are worth and all of that… if I had to choose one to put in my garage, it would be JJ’s for sure. If I had to go to a bike show with one.. JJ’s. Sr’s is a stupid goofy outsourced kit-toy. Jr’s is a caricature of a bike… coulda been really cool but just a little too much. JJ’s was in the middle.. nice classic style, nice look, I love the stainless and red set off with brass accents. Looks nice. Don’t like the wire wheels though – they look like shit on any bike, especially JJ’s. Shoulda gone with mag wheels.

Jessie James is the original custom bike builder and this proves that he still has what it takes to build a sweet, custom bike that is made to ride! Not show and tell like the other DRAMA queens! Jessie builds his bikes himself, he doesn’t send out orders for frames and forks. Paul sr and Paul jr build show and tell bikes…..the drama within that family makes me sick. They all need to forget about bikes and work on the family!!!!! Jessie said it best……..”All this stuff doesn’t mean a thing when it comes to the family”. “Family comes before the bike”. Jessie is the original, down to earth, no BS bike builder. Glad to see him back! I would like to know what purpose the spoon fed, do nothing, over weight cry baby they call Mikey, does. All I see him doing is being a spoiled brat who has no respect for his father and mooches off his brother. What a joke! You guys need to be on Dr Phil, your more suited for that show. leave the bike building to the original custom builder……jessie.

  10. 10 badams Dec 6th, 2011 at 2:04 am

I couldn’t have built any of these, so they all deserve credit. However…..

As a ridable machine, Pat Kennedy did the JJ setup 25+ years ago when Jesse was at football practice at UC Riverside; in this instance Jesse’s is the closest to a “Chopper”, with his signature. Its clean and all motor. Glad he refrained from acid trip paint work, however TV Ferrari red is a predictable color to catch the viewer’s eye. Would have expected a more exotic color to compliment the amount of fab work.

Paul Senior gets credit for taking a risk. Its obvious his business success reflects in his attitude toward a “contest” and he could care less, it was a romper room break from his real job at OC Ironworks. Points for lightening up and having fun.

Paul Jr tried too hard. Unridable and unrealistic; Jr., while refining the in house and farm out process to complete a build, appears stuck in old design paradigms…..garish themes. That type of bike was done 5+ years ago from various shops across Europe to compete in the World Championship Series.

So in the end, the winner contingent on viewer entertainment value and celebrity.

  11. 11 Rick M. Dec 6th, 2011 at 2:11 am

Lost alot of respect for JJ. Got tired of him cuttin Jr. and Senior down. His bike looks like any other bike. PJD should win….

  12. 12 Luis Dec 6th, 2011 at 2:30 am

It sure showed how weak minded JR is. “My father picked a stranger over his own son”? You’re 37 years old get over it already the pity party is long over.

  13. 13 Gas Man Dec 6th, 2011 at 2:49 am

Sr’s machine like said before would be super fun to romp around in snow or mud and just cause havoc.

Jr’s bike is exactly what I would have expected from PJD. Over the top, doing things others haven’t. Jr has the eye for design and blowing your mind immediately. That’s what is needed to make that expensive paid client happy or to wow the crowds. The front and rear ends were awesome. Similar has been done before but he took it to the next level. But did we ever see the front wheel @ a 90* to the bike or did they change their mind? The smoker was over the top but looked great when he was riding it.

JJ’s bike is very nice. The red against that polished stainless is amazing looking. It’s not over the top. The mix of red and polish was RIGHT on. The chrome in the gas tank had a classic 50’s car feel to it. But as Vinny said, it’s something that so many others could do out of any decent builders garage. It lacks that big punch.

    On the drama…

JJ needs to lay off the bashing, I know it’s his style but it just makes him look like an insecure a$*hat. He speaks about “my bikes are built to run 100mph from Texas to Sturgis and back”. Does he not remember blowin belts one of his last chopper shows?

I think Jr needs to calm down a bit and stop taking things so personally. He’s big on the social media and getting his word out there. But it works for him and he probably believes it helped him get where he’s at. He’s by far new school and more so than the other two.

The debate on if the bike is a trailer queen or a rider….

Sr’s is out, it’s not ride-able nor is it a bike.
Jr’s is awesome looking show bike.
JJ’s is a bike you want to ride.

Which is better? Which one is more popular?
    or is it
    Who is more popular?

  14. 14 Sheridan Dec 6th, 2011 at 4:23 am

Make each of them ride them 500 miles like the old Biker Build Off shows, then we’ll see who wins. There’s only one bike there that looks like it would make it.

  15. 15 Henry Dec 6th, 2011 at 4:39 am

The OCC contract must have read Monster Garage instead of bike build.

  16. 16 Nobody Dec 6th, 2011 at 4:43 am

Jr’s is an eyesore, Sr’s isn’t a bike, JJ’s is diff from his usual but looks nice.

  17. 17 rob Dec 6th, 2011 at 4:45 am

I think the Evil or Sacred Shovelhead chop beats them all………….

  18. 18 RobertL Dec 6th, 2011 at 5:09 am

I don’t want to see another theme bike, i want to see a bad ass chopper and they all failed in that category. I hate to say it but JJ’s bike is the only one i would ride over ten miles a hour. i was disapointed how Jesie is sucking Sr. ass though. He seem to act gay since he was in Hollywood so all i’ver got left to say is snap out of it you pretty mother f—–.

  19. 19 cojokafka Dec 6th, 2011 at 6:08 am

I wouldn’t ride nor want any of them. I honestly believe this was rigged to be between PJD and JJ. WTF did OCC build, they let some moron design a gaudy contraption that is essentially useless. I can’t stand Jesse James he has always been a douche, all the talk about he builds all his bikes and calls some help in to build his bike, same ol’ chopper s&#% that he always builds. Jr. just needs to untie the knot in his panties and lighten up, and he parted out his bike too. in the end it’s all a show, not what goes into it but what it looks like.

  20. 20 Kyle Dec 6th, 2011 at 6:21 am

Does Jrs. Flying machine come with a hat with a perpeller on top? My question is which bike or contraption would you feel comfortable riding down the freeway at 80 mph? What the f&ck was that Sr. Had built? It was supposed to be a BIKE build off. I was surprised not to Skeeter pull Sr. Aside and explain to him what a bike build off means.
Cheers Mickey this beers for you!

  21. 21 Mazz BMHS Bike Klub Canada's Only Chopper Class Dec 6th, 2011 at 7:36 am

Torn whether I want to comment or not, it just seems all so ridiculous. I can only comment on what I saw on the show and what I heard about prior to the show. The boys at Austin Speed Shop are masters, no doubt and it was cool Discovery Channel mentioned them in the show but I know a few others helped Jesse James out but were not mentioned like Cole Foster and others, that was a bit lame. These builds were team efforts and there is nothing wrong with that.
Sr’s machine, by the way the show was editted, he never intended on competing, plain and simple.
Jr’s bike, well, it is a PJD bike, would anyone really have expected anything else??
Jesse James’ bike, it’s a chopper/bobber and it again is something I would have expected from him. My only comment on his bike is, during the riding sequences, I have to ask, Mr. James, you kept looking forward from the sides of the tank, was the visibility that bad on the bike? tank and bars too high? Just askin’

As far as Discovery trying to say the winner will be considered the “best” custom bike builder in the world?? Come on, we all have our idea of who is the best, it’s all a matter of taste, really.

The trash talk is all TV drama, yeah it was overboard but most of you still sat there and watched it, we all know who these three “TV” personalities are, don’t act so surprized.

I was entertained and isn’t that the whole point of a TV show?

  22. 22 Heavy Metal Dec 6th, 2011 at 7:41 am

Typical Discovery channel production. Too much smack talk, Jesse dissn’ Bacon several times and many other stupid moments made for flipping back and forth to a boring football game. Jesse’s bike looked cool but it’s very close to what he always builds. Jesse’s parody of jr’s public service beg for votes was the best part of the show.

  23. 23 Hugh G Dec 6th, 2011 at 7:56 am

I liked how Jesse orchestrated a few things…. first was his potty mouth with every other word getting bleeped out…. then there was the shooting of machine guns when he needed to blow off some steam, then he had the per-requisite Pit Bull’s walking around the shop tearing things up, and oh then the visit by his kid to show some humility. Bravo JJ at trying to re-create that image that made you famous a few years ago. I think he’s trying for another TV show so he can get back in the spotlight.

As for the bikes, JJ’s was nice, but really nothing special…. looked like a typical chopper. And for anybody that thinks it was the most ride-able… did you see how stretched out he had to be to reach the bars… talk about a wacked out riding position… and then there’s the fact he couldn’t see over the headlight and had to put his head to the side to see around the front end. Nice!

PJD’s bike is rolling art, plain and simple. Not something you’re going to ride a lot, but that’s not what ANY of these bikes are… they are art more than a mode of transport.

    OCC’s contraption was just ridiculous.

  24. 24 Knucklehead Dec 6th, 2011 at 7:57 am

Jesse built a bike. He’s got my vote.

  25. 25 Tim Dec 6th, 2011 at 8:02 am

I think some of you are missing the point! Let’s get down to the basics, You Jesse haters just can’t stand it that he’s back! No Drama, Straight forward in your face building with your hands! They all did good, but the Jr, and Sr are hating that Jesse is back and the drama between family shit is over! Time to build stuff and show people what this learning channel is all about! Jesse’s bike looks like what he always builds, look at the others and ask yourself if the other two knuckleheads bike look what they always build! Yes and don’t know what he was thinking! Was it the build off of the century? No.. there are others that can turn circles around these 3, but it’s what y’all wanted and it happened! Maybe Discovery Channel will pick up the pace and do more bike and car stuff!

  26. 26 Skins Dec 6th, 2011 at 8:03 am

I have to agree with Heavy Metal. The Typical Drama Editing. That right there goes to show that The Producers of the show Just thrive off the Drama. It was like Bacon was made the Punching bag for some Drama on Jesse’s side in editing.

As for the Bikes? It’s jesse……. Its a Bike Build off. His was the only one that had a real bike. He just needs some shorter risers or stop hunching over when he rides.

  27. 27 08Pitbull Dec 6th, 2011 at 8:04 am

I started watching the show thinking Jesse would just be head and shoulders above the Tetles.
But after watching for a while a listening to Jesse’s annoying trash talk, and noticing that PJD did pretty much just as much in shop fabrication as Jesse.
    No comments on Sr. build
I thought PJD definitely used more creativity. The bike was WAY over the top but that tank was pretty bad ass.
I voted for PJD but Jesse’s bike ( not anywhere near the top of my wish list) would be the one I would want in my garage.

  28. 28 Dave Silvia Dec 6th, 2011 at 8:15 am

My view of the CHOPPER LIVE BUILD-OFF, Jesse fabbed a bad ass chopper to ride as he said he was gonna do, not an airplane look-a-like thing or a atv on steroids . JESSE JAMES GOT MY VOTE !

  29. 29 Ken Glenn Dec 6th, 2011 at 8:23 am

One shoots fire out the front, one shoots fire out the back, and the other smokes like a burned out moped.
Airplanes? Tank treds? I thought this was a BIKE build off!!!

  30. 30 Hondo Cat Dec 6th, 2011 at 8:23 am

This really was about TV drama and comparing apples to oranges. Sr’s wasn’t a motorcycle but it looked like a fun toy to play with. Jr’s bike was another theme bike and JJ’s was a bike typical of his style. Nothing unforeseen. There is something to be said about JJ building a bike from the ground up, frame and all with his old school skills. Still, he’s absolutely painful to listen to.

None of the two bikes or the three-track machine really stood out for me. It comes down to personal tastes and personalities as usual.

  31. 31 Greek Dec 6th, 2011 at 8:26 am

Most stupid competition. But Discovery channel made tons of money with advertisers.

  32. 32 Harry Dec 6th, 2011 at 8:30 am

Jesse looks like a has been. Unable to bring something new. The Same chop over and over. Just trying to act like the bad ass he is not and never been. Junior builds toys to look at. Senior, luckiest man in the world to have made so much money…. doing nothing.

  33. 33 Dan D Dec 6th, 2011 at 8:31 am

Paul Jr bike is the best he has done to date,, Don’t know how Sr can even call his a bike,, and JJ is just a plain Jane bike JJ need to get back into the game he was good 5 years ago. he lost it long the way J J go back to Hollywood Stay out of the bike game… Keep building the GREAT bike Jr

  34. 34 pj98rider Dec 6th, 2011 at 8:40 am

Jr. pushes the envelope and JJ doesn’t. JJ trashs talks about he’s the bad ass (wears his R&W support shirt like that makes him badder) and says will build his bike by himself. He pokes fun at Jr’s team and his push for votes…and then brings on his team and panders to the audience for his votes. Sr. could care less and his snowmobile shows it.

Jr was serious about building throughout and came out way with a bike that shows it. As to road worthiness, he had his out on the road and had no problems looking over the handlebars.

  35. 35 Skins Dec 6th, 2011 at 8:41 am

BTW- for all of you who think Jr’s a Designer? Think again. Look at the beginning of the show when he had his meeting with his crew . Look at the Furniture in his office. It’s the Restoration Hardware Aviator Series Furniture. A bunch of Metal panels riveted to Leather. He got his Idea off his Pricey furniture. My old lady caught that.

Also the balding guy?? Vince? He said they make all there stuff? I only saw the gas tank made? the fenders were Blanks. All they did is add a few rivets? Go back to MM3 ? Its been done before. But Jesse made Everything by hand back then. Jr’s a freaking STIFF!!!!!!!!

  36. 36 Skins Dec 6th, 2011 at 8:45 am

Jr stole his Idea off the Restoration Hardware Aviator line Furniture in his office. Look at the furniture in the beggining of the show when he and his “Team” are having there meeting. Look at the riveted furniture.

    Enough said……

  37. 37 Oldude Dec 6th, 2011 at 8:45 am

J.J. is a horses ass and so full of himself I want to puke. Jr. is a whiney little baby and Sr. is senile. This just a continuation of the Discovery channels soap opera. All personalaties aside….Jessie James bike is the real motorcycle! JESSIE WINS MY VOTE.

  38. 38 Patrick Dec 6th, 2011 at 8:51 am

Now I am thinking that all this circus will not help one bit the custom motorcycle industry.

  39. 39 Boss Hawg Dec 6th, 2011 at 8:52 am

    Keep it simple stupid.

Jesse Jame thumbs up and is the winner.

    Boss Hawg

  40. 40 Drake Dec 6th, 2011 at 8:59 am

Most of the bikes that Cyril features, including his, are much better than what I have seen in this soap opera.

  41. 41 Sam Dec 6th, 2011 at 9:02 am

Jr’s bike looks like it could make a badass cappuccino

  42. 42 Brandon Dec 6th, 2011 at 9:06 am

JJ’s bike the best but still disappointed by his unability to build anything new. 10 years ago his bikes looked better.

  43. 43 Joe Mielke Dec 6th, 2011 at 9:14 am

Like everyone I have an opinion but I don’t care to add to the arguement of “who wins”.

I will say I had hoped to see more fabricating and less talking. They had to have hundreds of hours of fab footage and we saw what? Maybe 20-30 minutes in two hours. I didn’t really expect anything different but……

    Joe

  44. 44 Zipper Dec 6th, 2011 at 9:24 am

Almost painful to watch. Turned the show off at 19 min. Appeared to me SR. was the only one having a few laughs. That is what it’s all about. ..Z

  45. 45 JB Dec 6th, 2011 at 9:26 am

All three “machines” are unridable death traps, and thus worthless as motorcycles in my opinion. It’s fine for custom motorcycles to be radical creations, but they need to be able to be ridden to make them a motorcycle.
Jesse can’t see over the front of his bike, so it’s a serious crash just waiting to happen.
Seniors snowmobile is pretty much unridable accept around in circles.
I’m not sure if the theme of PJD’s bike was aviation or galvanic corrosion and death by fireball. What was he thinking! Lets run a 1200 degree exhaust pipe through the fuel tank, so we can have super heated gas vapor, and then rivet polished aluminum to a bare steel tank so it can have rust holes in it in 2 weeks! I would not be willing to sit on that bike if it were running because I value what is between my legs.

  46. 46 Kroeter Dec 6th, 2011 at 9:27 am

I’m with Greek, I’d rather watch Pimp My Ride reruns.

  47. 47 cb400f Dec 6th, 2011 at 10:01 am

I thought JJ would have made something unpredictable, Of all of them, the only one unpredictable was the tracked beast from Sr. You have got to give him credit for out of the box thinking. Tough to ride for a hundred miles through the desert, but whatever. I thought JJ would have leaned more toward the cafe style rather than a chopper, it is a beautiful bike, but there really are hundreds/thousands like it. Paul Jr’s has some great design concepts, but the scale is all wrong. It is too big. And too theme bike. I like the Idea of the through the tank exhaust, and giving JJ a shot of smoke to get him back a little for the cake and the trash talk, but that’s me. You may get gassed real bad after a few miles.

What you have here is a real agressive snake, in the form of JJ (not a slam, but just observation that he would probably agree with), dualing with a dove like Jr. and a not quite snake like Sr. I sure hope they have a sense of humor about the whole thing, I think the three of them could learn a lot!

  48. 48 chuckstang 94 Dec 6th, 2011 at 10:04 am

Well well well, A big moneygrab by Discovery using 3 “celebs” … These are not bike builds, Why wouldn’t Discovery at least have some ground rules, for starters it hast to be a bike, second you guys are gona ride it 100 even just 50mi. to Vegas. Instead we got a Tank, a Plane , and Bike that you have to ride like your 12 yrs old and your girlfriend is on the handlebars.. Jesse says he wants form and function to ride for miles at 100mph!!! Ha… Wana see you do 25mi with your big ol’ dome hangin off the side… PJD’s bike, Well it does roll down the road, and Jesse did do a copper bike before but nothing like this, again, lets see it do 70mph for a ride longer than 1mile and c how those rivets hold up and some of the other flashy sH&:.. As for OCC, What a Joke that whole operation has become, Sr. is in a build with his son and one of the most well known builders in the world, and he holds a cup of coffee while the build, and looks like a kid trying to take the training wheels of the first time when he finally gets on his “motorcycle ” WTF is that!!! What did the make??? All they did was BUY BUY BUY..
Overall , VERY dissapointed with DISCOVERY CHANNEL for letting it go this way, would have been so much better with rules and having to ride them..

P.S, Haha but then Sr. would never agree to do the show!!!

  49. 49 opietakestheshot Dec 6th, 2011 at 10:05 am

Hey isn’t the Final show of SOA on tonight?

  50. 50 deadwood1783 Dec 6th, 2011 at 10:21 am

JJ’s bike looks like everything else he’s built. I guess he thinks being a smartass and talking trash makes him cool. Sr’s bike, well it looks like the jokes on me but I don’t think its funny. While its damn sure not a rider, the PJD bike takes the Blue Ribbon in this field to me. All the trash talking put me to sleep.

  51. 51 james Dec 6th, 2011 at 10:23 am

My inside source {the voices in my head] tell me that Sr’s bike is a prototype commision from the Lego company.

  52. 52 plexed Dec 6th, 2011 at 10:30 am

Discovery is you read this PLEASE bring back the original Biker Build Off series. That said, this was probably the most entertaining episode of AC I can remember.

  53. 53 J Dec 6th, 2011 at 10:35 am

Pssst- hey JJ- it’s almost 2012, not 1977……

  54. 54 Kenny Dec 6th, 2011 at 10:46 am

You old “bad ass” marketing ploy doesn’t work anymore. So, try to build more innovative choppers because you sound dry on ideas. Same chopper during 10 years. Boring.

  55. 55 HarleyUptown Dec 6th, 2011 at 10:46 am

Seriously, Jesse built a bike. PJ Diddy, I want to see that POS run for an hour and watch it explode. Absolutely a useless attempt at building a bike by an oversized drama queen. Sr. Not worth mentioning.

  56. 56 Keith Stone Dec 6th, 2011 at 10:47 am

I somewhat agree with the last post. They built this for another company like match box cars or something. Make more money of the toy…

PJR…. I suspect he or his wife had seen this furniture before. Then decided to build the bike like an air plain. Then contacted that furniture company for a phat pay check to have it on the show maybe they filled there house up with the stuff. IMOP that’s why it was the center piece of that opening shot of everyone sitting around it. Another way to GET PAID !!!!

There are lots of post about the “show”, who is watching again tonight?

  57. 57 bobx Dec 6th, 2011 at 10:52 am

jr will win. his bike had the flash.

    jj will be second.

    sr. third.

i thought it was kinda funny about the furniture / rivits as well. didnt jj rivit a tank together in the past? not just pop rivits in for looks, but actually use them to hold the tank together? also, jr gets his frame plated to ‘look’ just like stainless, but jj MAKES a frame outta stainless.

best builder is jj. he built more of the bike. its cleaner and closer to being an actual rider. look at it in 5-10 years and itll still be something you could ride to bike night. a clean build doesnt go out of style.

the theme bike has the flash. its what people want to see. the one thats different. he ordered the frame. ordered the front / rear arms. his shop put it together and dressed it up. its gaudy as hell and if my bike smoked like that, it would mean something was wrong with it. he needs to wear a gold helmet with the wings on the side when he rides it. i think it will be here though because the majority of the people that watch those shows dont know any better.

paul sr. he doesnt seem to give a f*ck. he looks smaller since he was busted with the steroid thing awhile back. he ordered all his stuff too, then had the guys he ordered it from come and put it together for him. he’s made his money, anymore is just extra. his dont give a shit attitude was a nice change though.

  58. 58 HARDCORE CHOPPERS ORIGINALS Dec 6th, 2011 at 10:55 am

I would like to take this moment to comment on the build off that we all watched on the Discovery Channel last night and what my thoughts and conclusions that I came to:

    1.) Take on Junior-

Very talented designer….was at the right place at the right time…….however, not a “complete” builder due to the fact that he buys most of his parts and makes very little. Additionally, Vinny is the real backbone of his company. Without Vinny, Junior would be in big trouble. My friend Vince at American Suspension, designed and built both the frame and front and rear suspension of his build. In turn, Junior and his team finished the concept of the bike accordingly. Never did once was there any footage of exactly what junior built by himself or what parts where built at his shop other than the gas tank and other related parts. In turn, it seems that 75% of his bike was built off premise…….

GRADE: I give him a “B-“…..for managing an interesting build…..or finishing the American Suspension Bike……..excellent and original engineering. I would expect nothing less from my friend Vince from American Suspension….maybe they will start making more parts in-house in the future…..who knows. Wish nothing but the best for his business and employees.

    2.) Take on Senior-

Great business man…….excellent actor……..hard worker…..however, very little creative or fabrication talent. The design and build that OCC has presented us with is irrelevant and purposeless. I guess that he forgot that this is a “chopper build-off” and not a snowmobile or moon drone contest. His head design man Jason, I believe needs to stop playing video games and start riding and learning about the true meaning of what a true chopper is all about……at least for this particular challenge. His designs obviously due work well for their niche business model of themes bikes for corporate America, so we need to give credit where it’s due.

GRADE: I give them a “D’ for effort taken into account. They built very little and had everybody else build it for them. They just took credit for their creation….yes….I said creation. Wish nothing but the best for his business and employees.

    3.) Take on Jesse-

Excellent designer, builder and fabricator. Also a superior business man with fantastic on camera skills. Built a “true and timeless” chopper that represents attitude and craftsmanship……

GRADE: I give him an “A-” for originality, degree of completion(built 90% of bike in-house other than paint.) and superb fabrication and craftsmanship. Wish nothing but the best for his business and employees.

Summary: EXCELLENT EXPOSURE FOR THE CHOPPER INDUSTRY.

I would love to see another build-off in the near future. There are still several very talented builders left in the industry that I assure you that the show coverage would give the Discovery Channel fantastic ratings. Additionally, it would help the industry greatly at this point in time.

Also, I would like to take this moment to thank Mr.Cyril Huze for having the vision and drive of creating the most effective industry news coverage site on the web….at least that’s my opinion anyway. I read it daily for all of the latest news.

I am interested to see who wins tonight and see exactly why. I am also hoping that votes don’t get cast based on popularity. We shall find out.

    Regards,

    Alfredo Carlini
    President

  59. 59 Woody Dec 6th, 2011 at 10:58 am

Interesting show, wish there’d been more time spent showing us the actual builds but I guess the editing room wanted drama instead. Gotta vote for the bike where part after part didn’t come out of an outside vendor’s box.

  60. 60 peddler Dec 6th, 2011 at 10:59 am

This is a friggin’ joke. right? I was going to watch it on cable OnDemand when I returned from Germany next week, but now I don’t know.

  61. 61 Rider2 Dec 6th, 2011 at 11:03 am

okay, remember it’s a biker build off, meaning that they were all supposed to build their bikes on their own or with minimum help.

JJ…. sorry to say but nothing special about this bike…. that’s his typical style…. sure he built it from scratch and hand made the tank, etc. etc…. but so did Jr. . He got help from his shop as well on a few things. The bike is not really innovative but it will ride for miles and miles without any issues. I love Jesse’s work but he failed to impress with something we haven’t seen yet. What was really different on this bike? not a lot, new frame “design”? The rest was standard, PM mid-controls, TC engine, fender and stretched tank. Time for fresh ideas Jesse…. We don’t necessarily care if this bike can do 100 mph for hours or if you sent a cake to OCC or if you say F#$% on TV every other word to look like you don’t care and you’re the coolest guy in Austin.

Jr…. to me, the most innovative bike. Sure it looks like a weird bicycle but the amount of work and research, the details and the finish makes this bike a clear winner, especially for the public that is almost solely looking at “in your face’ designs. Jr nailed it. It’s not a theme bike for a client but it’s an inspired bike by an airplane. The tank is really nice and the details show they did their homework. Also, this bike was built by a lesser number of people. The bad thing about it is you can’t ride it more than 100 miles. I am not a fan of Jr. but he would get my vote because everything on this bike was innovative and one-off.

Sr. Come on!!!! what part of building a bike don’t you understand? Innovative doesn’t mean you have to build a Batman snowmobile just because you want to be different. Gee, you can be innovative by building bikes, you moron. I guess this time you didn’t have a corporation that wanted a horse gastank so you didn’t know what to do. FIre that stupid kid that makes everything in 3D on his computer. OCC screwed up, again (no surprise here). They seem out of the contest from the first minute of the show, spending time blowing cars and cardboard stuff and doing donuts on some electrical nightmare. What a bunch of losers. Can’t ride this thing, it’s not a bike …. they should be disqualified. It’s a biker build-off, not a competition to build the next machine for a super hero movie. Also, Sr didn’t even touch a screw driver in 2 hours of this show. He yelled at people and hired external help to do … everything. That should be against the rule. They didn’t make the frame, the tracks, or the electrical system. Barely made the skirts.

Jr has my vote on innovation and the most in-your-face bike. This should be a no-brainer in Vegas. I really wanted to vote for Jesse though.

  62. 62 Maytag Dec 6th, 2011 at 11:03 am

I fell asleep. Slept good too!

  63. 63 Red Dec 6th, 2011 at 11:13 am

Sr was the only one that surprised me. Jessie built the only ride able bike. Jr did what Jr does.
If Sr doesn’t fire that idiot Jason there is no justice in the world.

  64. 64 Ronda Dec 6th, 2011 at 11:25 am

The idiot of the show is Jason, giggling at all his own and all OCC stupid ideas. For the rest, everybody doing his own show biz thing to attract votes from people with no clue of what makes a good builder and a good motorcycle.

  65. 65 thomas Dec 6th, 2011 at 11:26 am

I voted for Junior. A very creative bike!
I thought about voting for Jesse, he seems to be the most hands on builder, Until I saw him having to look off to side (unable to look over the headlight) just to ride his bike.
Senior should be disqualified, simply put he did not build a motorcycle.

  66. 66 Rider2 Dec 6th, 2011 at 11:29 am

Thomas…. you’re right…. i forgot about that…. If you have to look on the side to ride your bike, especially when you are as tall as Jesse, your design has ultimately an issue.

  67. 67 Gandaff Dec 6th, 2011 at 11:31 am

No doubt Jesse is a talented builder and has been for years. But his profanity laced degradating remarks about Jr. and Sr. only detracks from his build. Jesse, let’s build a bike and stop the namecalling. Show some class for once in this buildoff.

  68. 68 Caliper Dec 6th, 2011 at 11:39 am

Jesse lost his creative juice. Knowing how to fabricate is not enough to build a great bike. The 2 others? Clowns making money for being just clowns.

  69. 69 James Van Deck Dec 6th, 2011 at 11:41 am

Disappointed by Jesse’s chopper, but still voting for him because he is the only true builder..

  70. 70 Foo-E Dec 6th, 2011 at 11:41 am

    WTF did Sr build?

  71. 71 Keller Dec 6th, 2011 at 11:43 am

Jesse, you front wheel is too small. Change it for a taller one for a more aggressive attitude.

  72. 72 Andy Lund Dec 6th, 2011 at 11:46 am

Though JJ made a bike that looks like the ones he has always built, his is the best. Senior built something that is not a bike, so it would not show that he is talentless in comparison. Junior built something to show talent, which I believe he has, but built something that is unrideable in the process.

  73. 73 HD VooDoo Dec 6th, 2011 at 11:47 am

Out of all three there is only one bike that would be truely rideable and that is Jesse’s. Jr is creative however, you couldnt ride that thing 50 miles, it to be looked at not riden.

  74. 74 Pete Dec 6th, 2011 at 11:50 am

Junior’s bike is the best, but, I’ll never vote for him because he became a whore by doing anything for Toyota. If he goes back to an American brand, he’ll regain my respect.

  75. 75 The Supreme Team Dec 6th, 2011 at 12:00 pm

Man…this thread sounds like a bunch of high school girls talking about Twilight movies!

Jesse, beautiful bike. Dig it, and dig the fact that you did all the fab work…you’re truly a talented dude. I realize the trash talk was there for a reason…I thought it was hilarious and made the show fun to watch.

Sr….dude, put the coffee down or the red party cup and get your hands dirty. That asshat that does your designs makes a mockery of your business and helps people dislike OCC that much more. Your team looks more like the guys on King of the Hill standing around the beer cooler…like not a one of them can do a thing without the other’s input. Great “concept”…nothing wrong with the innovation there, but that’s not a bike.

Jr…well, I was voting for Jesse and still think he’s a wayyyy better bike builder from a craftsman’s perspective, but Jr did put together a nice bike. To the comments about Jr. doing the same fab as Jesse…really? I saw a tank go together and it wasn’t Jr. doing the bending. How about that frame that Jr. built? Hmmm…musta missed that too. Oh, and that swing arm…well…hell…I must have missed him machining that. Isn’t there a Haas CNC sitting right behind the lift?
Anyway, from an “idea” perspective, I think Jr. takes the win…the bike is museum worthy and though pretty outlandish, it is a nice looking piece. From a whiny bitchy perspective, Jr. also takes the win “Vote for me because my Dad didn’t”.

For a bike I’d like to ride, Jesse definitely wins.

For bike I’d like to own to put on display in the front room…I’m going with Sr.

Then again, I’d really like to own the Death Star and have an Ewok for a pet.

  76. 76 Boomer Dec 6th, 2011 at 12:02 pm

JJ’s bike wins to me. Nice old school look with some modern day parts to make it better. It would be a rough riding bike and not for someone with a bad back. A decent sprung seat would help a lot if going any real distance. Great B to B bike as is though.

Jr’s bike is interesting but not a riding bike. I’m not a fan of the skinny back tires either.

    Sr’s bike isn’t even a bike.

Let them all ride a few hundred miles to see which one is really made to be ridden as has been said.

  77. 77 66 Dec 6th, 2011 at 12:06 pm

Jesse can build but not design. Jr. can design and not build. Sr. can’t do anything.

  78. 78 CB1000R Bhoy Dec 6th, 2011 at 12:19 pm

Not sure when this will be on in the Uk but looking forward to it.
Going by the photos JR bike looks interesting, OCC aught to be ashamed of themselves and Jesse 2001 called they want their bike back.

  79. 79 A. Gibbs Dec 6th, 2011 at 12:26 pm

Jesse’s, the only motorcycle, but he could lose this contest!

  80. 80 Hank Talbot Dec 6th, 2011 at 12:28 pm

Jr, fake nice guy. Jesse, fake outlaw. Sr. fake everything.

  81. 81 HDRYDER Dec 6th, 2011 at 12:33 pm

I watched the show, and all I got was that Sr. did not do a damn thing, Jr. built a “theme” bike, and Jesse, did his same old style. I wasted two hours of my life, and won’t be doing it again tonight.

  82. 82 tom Dec 6th, 2011 at 12:33 pm

    Riders point …’;’;..Jesses bike .. that I could ride 500 miles in a day granted Id need my old kidney belt.. seniors ??? . JJ ride, trailer to stage that’s it.. ‘;’;

  83. 83 Bruce Dec 6th, 2011 at 12:37 pm

The winner is the one who built the bike I would like to own. Jesse’s chopper. By the way, there is only 1 chopper in the American Chopper Live competition!

  84. 84 Bikerdave44 Dec 6th, 2011 at 12:51 pm

    FOOTPEGS.. Hmmm..
    Thought JJ’s bike was great..
But just didn’t like the positioning of
the foot controls.. But I’m sure he’s
got his reasons.. Liked his comment on
    ridin’ Hard, Fast, and Long..

  85. 85 Question Dec 6th, 2011 at 12:53 pm

Does anyone else have an issue with hot exhaust coming up thru a gas tank?

I think you have to look at this for what it is and thats simple entertainment! For the industry it is good because again like a few years ago it creates visibility to our industry (yes good or bad people are talking about it). I agree with some of the earlier comments of bringing back the build-offs, with a slightly diffrent twist, make it almost a playoff system with the winner continuing on throughout the year.

As far as the show it was just that a “show” I think that if you look at the actual “building” of the bike and not using parts “ordered” and assembled you would have to say that Jesse had the dirtiest hands.

  86. 86 roscoe Dec 6th, 2011 at 12:59 pm

I didn’t watch the show, so I can only comment on the pics above. Jrs. Bike looks like shit, JJs bike looks like the same ol same ol. And Seniors “bike” isn’t a bike at all.
I have to admit, if it was possible to get Seniors machine road ready, with windshield and tracks that would work on conrete/pavement, I’d love to have one. It looks like fun!
Senior is the only one that has any innovation.
Where can I get one for my commute?

  87. 87 Tin Shack Dec 6th, 2011 at 1:17 pm

Just wondering if anyone else is seeing the total rip-off of Roger Goldammers design by Junior on this build? Take a look at Goldammers BTR3 and Trouble bikes built 6 and 7 years ago. Junior took the design and added a circus-like smoke show. Jesse gets the nod……..he built a chopper.

  88. 88 Toby Dec 6th, 2011 at 1:21 pm

    My prediction for the voting:

    PJD 55%
    JJ 45%
    SR 5%

Not on merit, but on the simple fact that for the most part the voting populace adore reading People Magazine and spend half their day on Facebook.

  89. 89 Big scooter Dec 6th, 2011 at 1:24 pm

Win or lose Jesse James built the best bike Jesse has the true skills and know ledge of bikes theme bikes suck it’s all about rideing hard and fast if any true bikers out there who ride should know ! If you don’t own a bike then you should shut the fuck up

  90. 90 Big scooter Dec 6th, 2011 at 1:32 pm

Jesse James built a better bike he has the knowledge and skills theme backs are lame!!!!!! It all about rideing hard and fast any real bikers out there who truly ride know that! Sr and jr built toys the real deal is the bike Jesse built !!!!!!!

  91. 91 level-4 Dec 6th, 2011 at 1:51 pm

Remember when the biker build off required you ride the motorcycle you built a couple hundred miles to an event. They missed that big time with this sham. Jesse’s bike is the only rider of the 3.

I really want to like JJ’s bike, but I don’t. With different wheels, full rear fender, and a black paint job it is the POW theme bike.

  95. 95 kc cheef Dec 6th, 2011 at 2:31 pm

    LMBO.
JJ talks some s–t but had to call in his boys to finish a build?
Anyone notice how JJ had to try to peek under the left side bar to see where he was going?

    Senior?
What the h–l was that thing?
I’m thinking time for Senior to sell OCC and ask Junior for a job making coffee.

    Junior?
Still nothing I’d ride–but blows the others away.

The engine in Juniors bike is a work of art.
I plan to be riding a version of it in the spring.
But I plan to be riding it attached to a REAL MOTORCYCLE.

    LMBO!!!!

    Hey Jesse WTF happened?

  96. 96 Top Cat Dec 6th, 2011 at 2:32 pm

JJ’s bike is pure and classic as hell, Paul Jr’s is a work of art, truly a beautiful piece but it is just that “ART” not knocking him honestly, Paul Sr. is on crack and should move to Alaska with that POS, seriously it is Christmas and all so maybe Toys “R” Us gave him an endorsement……..

  97. 97 TONY P Dec 6th, 2011 at 2:38 pm

Ok I have read almost all these replies…yes we do all have our own styles and opinions but let’s not forget the most important statement here….jesse put all these guys on the map period..yes they all where and are great builders but they all should thank jesse for starting the TV bike shows it started about him and then all hell broke loose. And now its gone the fad so to speak or the custom bike craze. Jesse put a lot of money in a lot of peoples pockets. OCC is still running strong on TV because of drama not there bikes…jesse you a brilliant at what u create good luck.

  102. 102 Olive Oil Dec 6th, 2011 at 3:36 pm

I was disappointed at J James foul mouth on the show. He always trying to prove what a hard bad ass he is when it is furthest from the truth. Shooting his weapons, known for collecting nazi crap, talking down at other builders. How many times do we have to hear he learnt his blacksmith skills in Israel? Wonder what they had to say about his Nazi collection over there? Loved his bike but would need an apple box to see over the headlamp. Love to see him ride that 1500 miles to Sturgis, looking out the side of the bars. Serious design flaw here. But this bike gets my vote. Closest thing to what I would park in my garage.
Paul Jr bike is a joke theme bike again. Should have run the pipes coming through the tank up into his puss and turn the smoker on. He was so unhappy his dad would not vote for his own son. Not sure if this is all theatrics between those two. Have no desire to have my family act in this way. Loved Mikey’s part in this, drag an airplane to the shop and thats it, what a talent he posseses. Vinnie taking this all to seriously, he is really the only bike builder in this shop.
Paul Sr. made a fool of everybody and is counting the cash. He could not have been serious about this and made a complete fool of himself and everyone in his shop. He does carry that red cup around well when we saw him once or twice. Senior, build a bike forget it, his talents are long as is his desire.

Winner JJ in my books with an apple box to sit on.

  103. 103 Olive Oil Dec 6th, 2011 at 3:39 pm

Wow 100 remarks now, highest I have seen here. Great for the ratings.

  104. 104 Aero Dec 6th, 2011 at 4:00 pm

You guys that say Jesse’s bike is the ‘rideable’ one, – you really think so? Have you seen the video of him riding it?? That valley girl is stretched out like a freaking ape and he can’t even see over the gas tank. The guy is a loser. He couldn’t make it in Hollywood so he comes crying back to Discovery. And you cavemen love him. I bet you love penis cakes, too.

  105. 105 TONY P Dec 6th, 2011 at 4:25 pm

All u jesse haters can KISS MY ASS bet a good part of you people never road a bike or own a stock road king or a sportster…. Its called custom u dickheads has nothing to do with being comfortable.. Let’s go back to the old rigid streetrods… Its all about style and attitude something different and cool..rat bikes are cool if that’s your desire. Custom is being about a one off piece jesse is doing again what he is great at. So what know reason to knock him about his hollywood shit none of us are perfect . When its all said and done we all go back to what we like or are good at . So what if he can’t see the street a little LEAN is always cool its all about style . Wake up haters..

  106. 106 Roy Bridge Dec 6th, 2011 at 4:29 pm

And the winners are JJ, Jr., Sr. (money), Discovery Channel (more viewers = higher advertising rates), Cyril Huze (more readers, more comments = higher advertising rates)

You re all manipulated and they all make money.

  107. 107 KK11 Dec 6th, 2011 at 4:29 pm

Wow, that was a waste of my time. Personalities aside, there was a whole lot of time and money wasted. Sr’s machine was stupid since it is unrideble for any length of time/distance. Jr. has imagination and some skills but exhaust out the tank ? Yikes ! He will now make this the “theme” bike for the funiture company he uses in his office. JJ built a nice bike but tired and done before design. He could not even see over the bars. I remember the OCC gang getting a ticket at Bike Week in FLA on one show’s for not being able to see over the bars. So Jesse’s is rideable but would be illegal in most states. JJ has some serious issues in life and I am afraid he will always have them, same for Jr. Jr. will win but not for skills. Read above for all the help he got. Sr. is looking less bulky and please fire that Douche you have making your designs !! Sr. is my age and I have great respect for a man who made his way, and now is enjoying it. Thanks Cyril for letting us vent on this waste of money and time. Peace-11

  108. 108 Tim Tyler Dec 6th, 2011 at 5:19 pm

1st off all designs comes from some kind of idea so to say Jr. isn’t a designer is just being a hater, 2. tell me one bike builder you know that can’t make a bike like JJ? just like what every one else said, the same oh stuff with giant handle bars and a long stretch. Jr’s bike does look like a work of art and in person it’s even crazier looking and this show is based off of design not on which one can you ride 80 miles an hour for those of you who mention that. 3rd. Sr’s what ever that thing is looks like the thing on Batman that comes out of the tumbler but better looking and I think it’s off the hook but, with all that being said it depends on people’s taste and I just hope JJ doesn’t win.

  109. 109 HD Alex Dec 6th, 2011 at 5:31 pm

3 posts from Cyril in 7 days about this Discovery build-off. Today monday at 5.30 pm east coast, respectively 117, 98 and 108 comments. Wow! And I guess it’s not over because the winner is announced this evening. People are going to get crazy. Tonight, I will watch National Geographic.

  116. 116 scott Dec 6th, 2011 at 6:58 pm

I don’t know how SOME here think Jesse’s bike is thee most rideable. Are you just parroting what Jesse tells you about riding to Sturgis and back? Your ribs would be broken trying to stretch and ride the thing for a distance, and you’d look like an idiot having to look off the side to see where you’re going. It’s like when Ace Ventura broke his windshield and had to look out the drivers window to see where he was going. IT’S NOT FUNCTIONAL. Jr’s design was over the top with the big wheels, but you CAN drive it without design limitations, but I’m disappointed they are doing more ordering of parts than they use to, especially the wheels, frame and forks. SR’s wasnt a bike, and he did NOTHING. JR’s won, but it wasn’t the CLEAR thrashing like it was in the SR/JR build off. Jesse’s was 2nd, but only by default, the design wasn’t anything new AT ALL, and he’s a vile punk too.

  117. 117 Septic the Sceptic Dec 6th, 2011 at 7:06 pm

I had to fast forward every time I got tired of clown antics, and of MeMeMeMememememeMEMEmememeMyShitIsSoGreat, so I didn’t get to see much of the show. Jesse’s looks like a decent bike except for the showbike proportions, he does have a designer’s eye and an eye for detail. I want my half hour of life back.

3 inflamed egos competing on Discovery. Who would have thought it would ever happen?

Rick and Skeeter are the ones that made the OCC toy work. Rick for the fabing of the fenders and sheetmetal and Skeeter for making the tracks work like they should.

I found it strange that Rick wasn’t in many of the shots of the OCC crew. They should have let him Skeeter and Christian loose on the build then there would have been 2 motorcycles built.

It was entertaining though I wonder what the ratings were? Had to be better then that sad football game that was on last night….lol

jr’s bike is the best one

  121. 121 david alan Dec 6th, 2011 at 8:07 pm

..Personally, i think Jessie James is jealous of OCC and PJD”S success..i also feel he is loosing and has lost the respect of almost EVERYONE that knew of him as a bike builder, for the trash talking he does, AND for his scandolous behavior as a husband..yes, his behavior DID reflect on his career!! so, in one word, he in my opinion is an @#$hole!! occ and pjd give there clients what they want, and the outcome is phenominal!! they both have monopolized and capitalized on the “theme bike”, and i feel they deserve much recognized respect as successful businessman!!

  122. 122 Matt Dec 6th, 2011 at 8:15 pm

Haven’t watched the episodes yet so maybe my opinion isn’t tainted yet by what ever BS drama went on for the cameras and personally I couldn’t care less about that shit anyway. Judging by the photos though I am pleasantly surprised by how diverse and unflinching each design is! Each designer brought there own style and vision to the plate and I think that makes for the best kind of competition of all no matter who “wins” !

What a bunch of Drama queens. There is less drama on a soap opera…..S,r not even a bike and it was built by mostly others from outside his shop…he is not a builder ….he is a contractor. Jr’s bike is an explosion waiting to happen plus it looks like a beach bike. and for Jesse, like the man said above …its an accident waiting to happen….like to see him ride it for 500 miles, talk about cramped up and hurting at the end of the ride

  125. 125 MDSPHOTO Dec 6th, 2011 at 9:23 pm

I really wanted to vote for Jesse, but Jr.’s bike is off the chains. Jesse can babble about “craftsmanship” all he wants, but the the level of craftsmanship in Jr.’s bike puts Jesse’s to shame. Oh and JJ’s claim that his is the only rideable bike is bullshit. When they show him riding it he has to look to the side of the risers to see the street! Real rideable, real safe!

The best bike is Paul Jr.’s bike.

  128. 128 Natham Dec 6th, 2011 at 10:05 pm

Discovery should have had a “None of the above” option.

On one episode of Monster Garage, JJ wanted the team to build a Peterbilt bike but it ended up being a Peterbilt trike. So I wouldn’t hold it against Senior that his creation is more trike than bike. That said, the rear end with the supersized dolly caster doesn’t blend in with the rest of the machine. It looks like a quicky design fix. I still would pick it for winner , seeing as it looks the most fun, were it not for the fact that Senior had very little to do with building it.

JJ’s bike looks very clean and JJ was definitely hands on. On the down side, it’s nothing special (from a design perspective) and riding with your head off to a side so that you can see whats ahead is neither safe nor practical. JJ’s Airstream sidecar is enough to tell us that JJ can break the mold if he wants to.

While the craftsmanship of Junior’s bike is one to appreciate, the whole thing looks like it will hurt itself if it hits a small rock. Imho 3 spoke wheels do not look good be it on a bike or car, and the aeroprops just make it look cartoonish. Too much copper and shiny accents for my taste. The front forks and rear arm are very angular and solid, which clashes with the rounded/curvy and skeletal look of the rest of the bike. Junior certainly has design skills, his Caterpillar theme bike was a well thought out theme execution.

  134. 134 Andrew Krause Dec 6th, 2011 at 10:25 pm

    An old timer comment.
I’ve seen the bike Jesse built in Choppers and EasyRiders magazines a million times in the 80’s. He also didn’t fab the bike, he bent a few bars and pounded a tank and then called in his buddies to do the rest. He’s just so much bullshit. If you think you can ride his bike for longer than 10 minutes with your arms extended like that and looking out the side of the gas tank you’re probably just a bar hopper. I’ve put over 65,000 miles on motorcycles, his bike is just as much for show as JR’s.

  139. 139 cct Dec 7th, 2011 at 1:14 am

Paul Sr’s thing isn’t even a bike, I thought this was a bike build off? What purpose does a plastic lay-flat snowmobile with electric motors that shoots flames have? that is possibly one of the stupidest things I have ever seen in my life, after I saw when Jason designed it I almost just turned changed the channel. Pretty much none of that thing was made in-house, all of that shit was made by other companies and OCC couldn’t even put it together themselves! After a little while that stupid pointless piece of crap will just fall apart. Paul Jr’s bike is find of cool but why does every bike he builds have to be themed like something?! why can’t a motorcycle just look like a motorcycle!!!?? The exhaust is pretty cool and the rivets pull off the plane look pretty well but he blinged it out too much and it just looks stupid. I like the skinny rear tire but the wheels are way too big and why couldn’t he just do a classic leather seat, that would have looked alot better. Paul Jr thinks he is so creative but honestly if I had the shop experience I could probably come up with a bike that rivals one of his, it doesn’t take a creative genius to know what a nice bike looks like. American Chopper used to be alright back in the day, their bikes were still pretty stupid because they were always themed to look like something not related to motorcycles at all but now a days it’s just retarded. The whole show is about their stupid family drama, and all of the bikes are just for companies that have nothing to do with bikes at all! If you were one of these companies, like that gene company, why would you want someone to build a chopper for you??? wtf??! Jesse James says it perfectly “I build bikes to look like a bike, not like some computer”. Senior is a total idiot and builds stupid bikes, junior (like his father) is obsessed with the camera, his company PJD is also some gay clothing line and I guess will design anything you want (like a grill)? Juniors bikes are also stupid, just show bikes … Jesse James is a real bike builder and builds classic works of art that are meant to be ridden. The Tuetuls are a bunch of pussys and just need to suck it up, they just took the thing way too far, they are trying to salvage a dying TV show with this stupid drama. And for Mikey, you fat lazy asshole, what do you even do?? You are a horrible artist and all you’re paintings are the same. None of his humor is funny he just looks like some fat old gay bum that just lived off all his Dad’s money, now he lives off all his brother’s money. I seriously hate American Chopper, it is a stupid drama show now. Jesse James F*CK YA!!!!

Your stainless frame was out of this world. What caught my eye was the tank, real beauty. I must say that it must be a difference in taste, I have never liked the prayin mantis design. If you could of raked and goosed a bit more and extended the front end (which that FE was royal!) just a bit more you would have taken it hands down! Hope to see more of your builds in the future.

  142. 142 Tony Dec 7th, 2011 at 4:47 am

Well, in my opinion Jr’s bike was awesome and should’ve won as he did. And I won’t lie, Sr’s was too. But JJ bike is a typical bike. You see those everyday on the street. 2 out of the 3 judges both said Jr’s bike was creatative and different which caught there eye. As I read in a pervious comment, discovery didn’t set ground rules on the build off. So JJ saying my bike can do this and that, wasn’t expect of the bikes cause I’m sure Jr would have made it for those specifications. And like so many comments have also noted, JJ’s bike is not a safe bike. Having to look off the side and awkward positioning is plain stupid and unsafe. And people saying they would have his bike in their garage are dumb. If JJ wanted to show them he’s a better builder, which he’s not, he shouldve shut up and just build. No trash talk is nessary. He even admits to to toward the end of the build that’s why he gets a team of guys to come and help him finish cause he wouldn’t have made it. And it makes me sad that Sr disses his son like that. People saying he’s a baby and what not for how he gets upset with his dad. Reality is who wants to be in that position with his father? No one and the fact that Sr talks smack? Come on Sr!! He’s your son. And Jr was the only who didn’t trash talk. Also he was pleading for votes! He thanked people for the votes and acknowledges he’s fans. And then JJ mocks him for doing it! Really? How old are u JJ?? Anyway, plain in simple Jr’s bike is the best bike. It’s creative, new, and also hand made. Even though they get things done else where , they still put the time and effort in a bike. I’m sure JJ would come close to building a bike of that caliber. But I’m sure Jr could built a bike just like JJ of asked too. So looks like Jr is a diverse builder where as JJ is narrow minded and can only do one style. Lacks creativity. If I had money to spend I’d get a bike build by PJD. It would be a theme bike, but a bike I can’t ride and I’m sure they would knock it out of the park. No doubt! Congrats to Jr and his team. Also like the fact he mentions his team. Because they helped him build it. So that he doesn’t take the credit himself. Kudos Jr!

With that chrome frame and red tanks, looks like to me all you are missing is a banana seat and
you got yourself a chopped Schwinn Stingray.

Reading these comments so reflect the three bozos that ‘stared’ in it. I’m tired of all the @ssclown ‘experts’ that crawl out of the woodwork’s. It’s TV people! Motorcycle reality TV for the Jerry Springer fans. The funny part is I did not even watch the show and I get on the net and already got the Cliffs Notes version. All without wasting my time. Ride your build or ride your own and stop posturing.

  145. 145 SAVAGE Dec 7th, 2011 at 9:13 am

Jesse James is the man!!!! He built is bike. Paul Jr. bought most of his bike and had someone else do the tank. I’m sorry I did see Jr. open boxes and reveal a frame, front end, and rear end. As far as fab work goes Paul and Senior do not have a clue.

  146. 146 Jim C Dec 7th, 2011 at 10:47 am

JJ can still build the best chopper. They should get together and ride for 300 miles like Indian Larry did in the show Bikers build off between him and other bulders.

  147. 147 live2rideaglide Dec 7th, 2011 at 11:46 am

Noone I ride with would ride the Paul Jr. bike ( even if it could be ridden a city block ) or that piece of junk that OCC built. The lawnmower or whatever they called it is a joke at best and at worst a shame and embarassment to the bike building industry as a whole. Paul Sr. better get some bike people in there working for him before he becomes the butt joke of the industry. Although that boat may have already sailed. Jesse is a craftsman , an obnoxious, narcissitic jerk , but a craftsman nonetheless. Paul Jr’s next project will blow bubbles out the exhaust.

  148. 148 MF173 Dec 7th, 2011 at 11:47 am

Honestly, it was touted as “Best Bike Build-Off”. We can ALL agree that Sr’s wasn’t a bike @ all. Plus as a man, which I am, picturing myself laying flat on my stomach riding on that “bike” going over bumps & uneven grounds, does not seem pleasing to the crotch area @ all. Jr’s bike has ribbits on the seat, not to mention its all metal with NO padding. How far can you comfortably ride that thing? Oh & the exhaust exits from the gas tank, @ least where it traditionally goes. So what happens when you’re stopped @ a signal light, you have to breath in those fumes??? Is it a nice looking show piece? Yes. But we are talking practical here. Get on it, start it & head out on a road trip. JJ won that hands down. He built the frame & did all the metal work from scratch. That’s the meaning of a build. Sr, was a spectator during his build, Jr, stole his idea, oh I mean sought inspiration, from a plane. JJ, imagined it, created it & brought it to life. This turned out to be a popularity contest Sr, has always come off like a douche & JJ hurt his chances by kinda siding with Sr & by going after, sometimes a little too hard, @ the one holding the sympathy card, Jr. @ the end of it all Sr probably wanted to create his own version of a video game bike, i.e PJD’s Gears Of War bike. Jr’s bike, as I wrote earlier, is a great show piece & is an eye catcher. JJ’s bike is the true definition of what a bike should be sleek, clean & practical. Great return for the first great T.V classic bike builder.

  149. 149 pdotbacot Dec 7th, 2011 at 1:33 pm

to all you Jesse James dick suckers out there, stop repeating everything he says on the tv show…”oh, my Mikes meant to ride..da da da da da, It’s not a show off piece of technology like the Tuttles…” Most of you have no idea what you’re talking about. The competition was to build a bike that no one had seen before, Sr. did that, Jr. did that, and James did that. Stop critiquing the bikes in saying the wheels are too big, the fender isn’t sitting right, the color scheme is off. There were no plans, they just made fucking awesome bikes, so stop being cock suckers and act like the fans you are…stupid to the ways of building a bike and just basically dumb.

What I saw last night was SR. and Jesse under did what they usually do as builders. Not that I didn’t like JR’s bike I just think that the competition was pretty much given to JR, by the lack of effort in the other projects.

  152. 152 Kustoms and Choppers Magazine Dec 7th, 2011 at 6:37 pm

I can tell from most of the Comments of people saying Jesse’s bike sucked or theres a thousand others like it you people obliviously don’t ride and have never worked on a chopper before.

The reason Jesse’s bike is good is because it can actually be ridden all the way from Long Beach California (or Austin Texas) all the way to South Dakota at 100 MPH. Don’t believe me go watch Motorcycle Mania II he does it there too!

If anyone wants you check out my review .

  153. 153 GaryC Dec 7th, 2011 at 7:02 pm

who gives a fuck about JJ’s personal life, his bike was a BIKE, Jr’s bike is for display only, the tank wasn’t even a tank, it is basically a glorified cover…Sr’s “bike” was better than Jr’s, JJ’s bike was based off a classic frisco chop, not a fav of some but it was pretty nice, and using all stainless to make it was pretty cool

  154. 154 GaryC Dec 7th, 2011 at 7:04 pm

And also i never seen a set of cleaner hands on a bike”builder” tha Jr’s…..if you know wht i mean…he’s little by little turin into Sr’, bolt on this here and there and eventually just telling people what to do

  155. 155 Aa Dec 7th, 2011 at 7:15 pm

All three of these guys are douchebags. I give the show (which I refused to watch), the three of them and their crap attitudes two enthusiastic middle fingers. I wish more people would take the same stance so these fools would disappear once and for all. Hey Discovery channel, give us a show that’s meaningful rather than the attitude filled social retards prancing around playing bike builder. There’s hundreds (if not thousands) of amazing builders out there, who have 100x the creativity of these butt nuts you’ve invested in and would be honored to showcase their skills. God forbid your viewers would actually learn something…

  157. 157 justin tapp Dec 7th, 2011 at 8:31 pm

i think the results of the build off are retarded jesse clearly had the better bike if had been judged on being the best all around bike while i agree pjd,s bike looked awesome that didnt make it the best bike i would much rather have a bike i could ridde an extended distance than have a bike that looked cool but i had to haul around on a trailer 90% of the time thats not a bike thats a monetary statement of how much money 1 can on a minimaly functional eye piece thats why i think if had been judged on the basic functions of a bike longtivity of ride durability speed and control jesse would have smoked them hands down instead of appearences james machined and forged most of his own parts wasnt that considered in judging hell i can build a 69 c10 out of a jc witney mag right now i just feel like the judging wasnt thourough and more based on judging a book by its cover

  158. 158 was there Dec 8th, 2011 at 7:43 am

As usual,JJ was his typical hypocritical self. All BS and in your face, bragging how he is the best, when in the end the bike looked like all his other bikes. Besides that bike is not rideable over 100 miles if that. This contest was not about rideability but he kept talking about it so….
Sr’s bike was nothing but innovation right down to the electric motors and batteries. If you don’t think that this is our future, well you obviously arenot paying attention.
Jr tried way to hard but it was pretty cool bike. Alot of it was made off site by someone else tho. Of course alot of times that is how it is.

I wish they would had a word count on Jessie on the word “like”. Like cuss word like cuss word. What is he a valley girl now? His bike looked like a schiwnn sting ray. All the talk on here about ride, ride,I am sure Jessie is out this morning with his chrome frame and red gas tank burning up the roads. Face it it looked like a kit bike from JP cycles. Stainless frame I am sure that brittle metal will hold up on a few potholes. If you are going to ride build a ultra or a goldwing. In stead of a hardtail with a sportster gas tank.

  161. 161 Juniorisajoke Dec 8th, 2011 at 1:58 pm

I simply fail to see why people go so crazy of junior’s stuff. JJ is correct in his assertion that jrs bikes look like overdecorated cakes. A one-gallon tank?! That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard of. As for sr’s ‘bike’, it was obvious they weren’t taking this build-off at all seriously. It was just a case of indulging Jason’s design whims. Seems maybe he would be better off working for a video game design company at this point.

As for Junior…I have always felt he was an arrogant little punk and it occurs to me that all this massive over the top drama (“the” fight, etc.) came to a head when the junior started dating that giant forheaded bimbo he married. IMO she basically manipulated junior into distancing himself from his father so she could sink her hooks into the lawsuit $$ (no doubt encouraged by her to begin with…just like any good gold digger would). Let’s not forget, right after all this nonsense started, SHE was trying to get junior to buy and open a “boutique” for her. As if! I’ll bet it won’t be long before she’s divorcing and suing him for 1/2 his assets acquired after they were married (post-lawsuit victory $). I’m telling you, she is behind all of this crap. If she were truly interested in junior’s best interest they would be show her encouraging him to WORK IT OUT WITH HIS FATHER. But again, she’s just a bottom feeder ‘model’ who saw junior as a means to an end…being on TV and grabbing some loot.

  162. 162 Lyle Dec 8th, 2011 at 8:40 pm

Senior’s bike was way over the top (if it was a bike) But I thought he conducted himself the most professionally. JJ’s bike was pretty much what he’s done in the past. And he proved to himself and everyone else that talk’s cheap. Junior’s bike was the best. It wasn’t too practical for riding across country as JJ repeatedly pointed out, but none of them were. And it was every bit as practical as JJ’s bike. How big is that peanut tank on JJ’s? And how long will the steering head on that stainless frame hold up without gusseting? Personally, I was rooting for Sr. as he did the least amount of trash talking and was an old school biker before he ever became famous. But I was disappointed that he himself didn’t do the design. If he’s guilty of anything, it’s trying too hard and being too far out of the box. But I thought it was a good show and took it for the entertainment that it was. I’m trying not to read anything else into it. Of course everyone has their own opinion and the fact they were all on a show was a compliment to all three. Kudos to all of them.

  163. 163 Tsg Dec 8th, 2011 at 10:09 pm

the only why id watch another paul jr build is if his old lady was building them in a g string. that would be a better show than what paul and his suck boy crew do.

  164. 164 TurboFlush Dec 8th, 2011 at 11:11 pm

The problem here is that there were no rules in the beginning, all three contraptions belong in a different competition. A bike build off to me would indicate something one could actually ride every weekend. Honestly I hoped for a little more out of the bike. The frame and bike in general look like something that can be found in a catalog or even on the OCC website.

Jesse- well his attitude.. I could of done without. his bike, well he did use some materials that are out of the norm, and produced a nice piece of art. He said though that he “made every part of the bike with his hands” umm… He bought the engine, and probably the controls, and even the wheels. I don’t think any company can claim that they Produce 100% of anything. even auto manufactures sublet there products to be built elsewhere, just with there name on it.

Jr.s — Nice bike again and maybe one of the best, but it is another THEME bike. He did the right thing not interacting with the banter.

Senior — Well,.. umm he was completely off with the purpose of the build, only thing he built was the panels, wait.. it was his crew. It wasn’t a bike.. it is a toy, a cool one but still not a bike! I would still like to see him build a bike.. HIM not his crew. it will never happen. when he does it is all parts that bolt on! His money allowed him to build that massive trike.

    Just my 1.5 cents.

  165. 165 cushmanTim Dec 9th, 2011 at 1:51 am

when are we going to be done with these 3 A$$ clowns. The whole senoir vs. Junior now Jesse is back. Isn’t there some other group of bike builders out there besides these 3. I would rather see some young up and comer with some fresh ideas rather than 3 primadonnas. It’s the Kardashians of the bike world MAKE IT ALL GO AWAY PLEASE…. honestly they all sucked.

  166. 166 PPP Dec 9th, 2011 at 3:30 pm

Jr’s bike was set up from the beginning to win….His dad and his buddies built that un-bike on purpose!!!…(so they could be out of the running). The OCC fans are blinded from all of the crap bikes that have been built from the beginnig of the AMERICAN CHOPPER series, and would support these clowns if they would take a crap and call it a bike! Jr is not a real bike builder most of the parts that he uses are made by someone else. like the suppension for his master-crap… Do you think that he designed, machined and provided all of the engineering to construct it….I think not, which leads tto Jesse. Jesse designed, engineered and hand built his bike from scratch. it looks, great, and as he stated on the show,he can ride it any where, any time. so all of you people who think Jr is such a great bike builder think about what goes into building a REAL bike and how much of it is created made by the builder, then you will know who is the best bike builder.

  167. 167 olddude13 Dec 9th, 2011 at 8:30 pm

Question., If you locked the three in a good shop and said make a bike from scratch who would

WIN ? if you have to think about it for get it……

  168. 168 Greg Dec 10th, 2011 at 6:23 pm

Jesses bike is the exact same thing that he always builds, did you see him on that ape hanger that looked like the most uncomfortable pile looking like every other bike he’s ever done, looks like his bike building style come from a kit box and throw a custom paint job whoopdydoo, Paul Jr. and his design ideas are inventive and never seen before which is why his creativity wins out over Jesse James loud mouth

  169. 169 TheReaper! Dec 10th, 2011 at 11:10 pm

Looks wise PJD wins hands down , Sr’s . WTF is that ? JJ , same old same old .

If PJ would just build bikes with his designs that could actually be driven daily ,
I think I could actually call him a bike builder . To me the bottom line is it’s a bike
not a sculpture , first and foremost you gotta be able to drive it . If you can’t ride it , why build it ?

The only thing I wonder is which bike will fall apart first. The last one to fall apart after 10,000 miles should be declaired the winner.

I remember the true Biker Build offs. You remember the ones that had two shops build a chopper, then they rode them 400 miles to a bike show and people voted on them. This brings up a good question, where was the Biker build off in this build off? Did Senior grab a wrench at any point? the only time you really saw him riding his snowmobile was in a parking garage, and even if you put tires on it would you really safe on that thing driving down the road? How long would it take before a truck ran you over because they didn’t see you. Junior made a theme bike, with a 1 gallon gas tank. I remember a real Biker Build off one of the builders made a 1 gallon tank and they laughed at him through the whole ride because the stopped for gas 15 times. I give Junior credit for not going down to the same level as Jesse for the most part, although he was defensive about his tank. Jesse did himself in with all his talk, all he showed to people was that he was full of hatred towards the other builders and the people that have been in his life. I expected more out of Jesse with his history, and he went right back in his history and picked out a bike that had been done. I waited until I got off work at DISH to watch the live episode on my iPhone while I was waiting for my bus. I wish I had just waited now, it wasn’t worth using my bandwidth or my sling adapter to watch. The host, who is apparently a radio personality, should stay on radio. The more he tried to stir the pot with the contestants, the more he made himself look like a fool. Hopefully discovery decides to do an actual Biker build off again. Those at least had quality bikes that were built for riding in it, not these excuses for them.

From Big Bear Grizzly newspaper “Buyers Speak Out On Losses’

The customers who are waiting for bikes, or even just acknowledgement from Big Bear Choppers owners Kevin and Mona Alsop that their business has gone belly up and no bikes are coming, are from around the country to around the world. Pavel Meshcheryakov from Russia ordered two bike kits in June 2011, making full payment for $56,000. In November, Michael Forbes stopped responding to Meshcheryakov’s emails and letters. Forbes is the director of sales for Big Bear Choppers. Meshcheryakov says when he tried contacting Forbes by phone, there was no answer.

Lyle Haynes, economic development director for the city of Big Bear Lake, says the city is reviewing its options regarding a small business loan the city approved for Big Bear Choppers last spring. Haynes says the city will be behind First Mountain Bank in collecting any money from the motorcycle company, as the Alsops owe the bank even more than the $100,000 the city loaned the company.

The city loan was in conjunction with another loan of $147,000 from First Mountain Bank, Haynes says. The city attorney is reviewing all options available to the city to recoup funds, although Big Bear Choppers hasn’t officially filed bankruptcy, Haynes says. At least the city hasn’t been notified. Haynes says he has had conversations with Kevin, who indicated Big Bear Choppers is going out of business.

Approval of the loan was based in part on the numerous orders Big Bear Choppers had for bikes and kits, Haynes says. It was hoped that with the loan from the city and First Mountain Bank, the local firm would be able to hire more staff and get back on solid ground again. Haynes says he isn’t sure what happened that caused the Alsops to default.

It’s unfortunate Big Bear Choppers, which was the first local firm to obtain the loan from the city once the program was in place, defaulted, Haynes says. “My guess is that they ruined it for others,” Haynes says, meaning the program will probably be discontinued.

Parker, who paid $35,000 for a bike in April, says he was sent photos of a bike that wasn’t his as reassurance he would be getting his motorcycle. He asked for parts, which were never delivered.

The Bear Bones bike was a gift, a dream, Parker says. He fights back tears saying that he will never have an opportunity to dream the same dream again. He ordered the bike online then sent them a cashier’s check, Parker says. His dream is gone, he says.

The stories are the same around the country. People who ordered bikes, paid in full or deposits only to be strung along. Big Bear Choppers closed in early November. A note on the door said the company would re-open Nov. 28 after Thanksgiving. That didn’t happen.
Mona Alsop declined to comment whether the business was closed for good, only telling The Grizzly that when she was ready to comment, she would call us.

Mona and Kevin appeared on “The Mentor” on the Bloomberg channel in early November telling of their financial struggles hoping for help from a successful businessman. It’s unknown how the show ended.

You guys who think Senior never does anything, and can take no credit…. you will never have shit. He earned it by building the business. He builds the bikes in HIS factory. He made both his worthless whining pussy sons millionaires by working his ass of for years, and all they do is complain like a couple of damned 10 year old punks. Juniors bike was stupid ugly, out of proportion, and stylistically simple minded. If he did a theme bike about the wonders of femininity it would feature 30 boobs stuck all over the bike, Vinnie would build it (but that’s ok because he is Paulie and he doesn’t scare all the biker wanna be chest shaving metro sexuals) and then he would explain how he made his dad rich (while being a second rate student and drunk in middle school?!)

Sheesh, hey Paul Senior. I’m sorry dude. I know you love ’em, but they ain’t gonna be worth a shit til they go broke and learn what it means to earn instead of deserve… so do like the Trump told ya. Leave ’em jack shit.
