Riding Fun In The Carolinas. 2nd Annual Big Mountain Run May 19/23rd

Sponsored by Cycle Source Magazine and the Limpnickie Collective, a new Big Mountain Run is scheduled for May 19th through the 23rd, 2010. Organizers are keeping last year’s Gypsy run almost exactly the same. Wednesday May 19th participants will meet at Tilley’s Harley-Davidson in Statesville, NC from where we they will leave at noon for a two-day tour through the Smokey Mountains.

First night will be at the Wheels Through Time Museum in Maggie Valley for a complete tour of one of the best motorcycle museums in the world. Camping is right on site that night and the next morning riders will take on the Tail Of The Dragon, the most notorious motorcycle road known to man (318 turns on 11 miles). Then it will be time  to wind down through the hills to Reliance Tennessee for a three night party at Hiawassee Outfitters campground right on the river. At the campgrounds there will be live music all weekend featuring Crank County Daredevils, Last Vegas, Final Drive, Knucklehead, and Super Potent Death Baby just to name a few. There will be food vendors, The Cycle Source Chopper Show, a mini bike racing and some of the best riding in the entire country. All this is included in your camping pass, just 10 dollars for one night, $ 20 for two or $30 to stay the whole time. For information on being a vendor or for general info on the run go to Big Mountain Run. (pre-run party on Tuesday night, put on by Wicked Willy’s Choppers. The party starts at 6 pm featuring live music and free camping on site. call 828-303-0422)

I have been looking forward to this since last years! Its going to be the party of 2010 plus it has some of the BEST riding roads and even has white water rafting. The only problem is it isn’t long enough to get everything in. It needs to be 2 weeks long!
