Last week, I just had to write that the UK Custom Motorcycle Scene was a little bit dull to receive a flow of bike pictures coming from English Magazine Back Street Heroes. And I liked this one, a 1958 Ariel Red Hunter 350 cc built about two years ago by Rob ‘Billy Whiz’ Willis in his shed.
One-off single down tube rigid in 1” and 1.5” CFS360 NBR mild steel tube TIG welded by Billy Whiz, 42-degree steering head rake. Front end is a restored 2” under stock 1960 Triumph with one-off internals for adjustable ride height in 1952 Triumph Speed Twin yokes with 3-degree integral rake. Brakeless spool front hub made from two Triumph Tiger Cub hubs laced to re-chromed 21” Raedeli rim with chrome spokes and gold plated nipples, 28” wide x 1” diameter drag bars by Custom Fasteners. BMX handlebar grips, 4.5” Bates headlight with sealed beam unit. One-off single-cap fuel tank in 2.1mm mild steel, one-off cylindrical oil tank in mild steel, one-off solo seat, one-off stainless forward controls, etc. All by Billy Whiz.. You can see the bike on its maiden run by watching this Plum Crazy YouTube Video.

!

Like it. Never seem an Ariel in this kind of dress up.
A little bit skinny,
I’d like it a little more “dressed-up” as it is a very small engine yet.
But , a very nice looking bike !
Gustian
Lean and mean! Seat looks a little cramped for a guy my size, but I like the bike: clean, minimalist approach, all business.
Very good….i like builder who like to work with something different.
