It’s difficult to conceive a good tee-shirt. I like this one because 1- it’s hand drawn, not a computer manipulated image downloaded from Photoshop. 2- it’s a new way to show the American flag (yes, you see correctly, different drinking glasses replace the 50 stars and there is no reason anyone get offended. Ok? And no, I don’t drink)) 3- For those who care or who are allergic to the 50% polyester contained in most tee-shirt fabrics, this one is screen printed on recycled organic and vintage material. It’s a little bit expensive at $30 (shipping included) because like for custom bikes…you have to pay the artist. Christmas gift? Available in size: XXS, XS, Small, Medium, Large, XL, XXL. Order online at J. Newbury Tee-Shirts.

Use the names of famous people of our motorcycle industry, always retired (Ed Hardy) or preferably dead, give them or their heirs the smallest possible royalty or a one-time fee, manufacture in China, pay some show biz people to wear the tees and the caps, organize lavish Hollywood parties with a display of wild motorcycles, take pictures of these celebrities wearing your fashion, and flash the photos (most must be with you in it because it’s time to launch your fashion line under your own name) in all people magazines around the world. Result, everybody wearing your “motorcycle gear” is feeling like a bad ass biker or a wild chick. Relatively cheap deal since owning and riding a motorcycle is not required. Even non advised. Too dangerous. So, who’s next?

Ray owns a business called Biker Rain Chaps. And in these tough times (or rainy days) he had to find a cheap creative way to promote his business. So he created this tee-shirt “My Bike Makes Me Wet” that you can get for free + 25% discount on his chaps when you place an order before this coming weekend. Of course, I would recommend that only women wear it or be ready for some well deserved jokes…Wearing only the tee-shirt doesn’t necessarily keep you dry. Biker Rain Chaps.

Have you heard horror stories in Daytona, Laconia or Sturgis? A stash tube on your frame front tube will work, but why not being a little bit more custom and hide it behind your license plate holder? Available in upright or lay-down style. The brackets are adjustable and mount to the rear of most stock license plate assemblies. The hardware mounts through the front of the license frame. The end caps on the tube are sealed with o-rings to insure a water-tight seal. The length of the tube is 4.5” and is made of polished Stainless Steel. Includes all necessary mounting hardware. Machined from 6061-T6 Billet Aluminum and chrome plated. Online at Pro-One.

Then I received this picture of a new Hi-Tops model that John Varvatos is selling direct. Love at first sight till’ I read the price. $250.00. I understand that John Varvatos has big bills at his fabulous 315 Bowery, New york, NY store installed in the location of former iconic rock club CBGB (hope you have been there during its 30-year run).

But still quite “over the top” in these times of “buy only what you need”. So, for this price, what do you get? A limited edition, Nappa leather upper with leather weave along eyelet and tongue. Bowery NYC branded outsole. rawhide laces. pinstripe lining and a stained outsole because as you know, it’s very expensive to look so cheap. Anyway, if you are in New York City, at least visit the store full of vintage clothing, CBGB memorabilia, vinyl records, and 70’s audio equipment, of course sold alongside Varvatos’ latest fashions. His website rocks, too.

Ever wondered what’s going on with Jesse James and West Coast Choppers? Hey, I know. In addition to his own TV show and many guest appearances, Jesse is multi-tasking, multi-designing, multi-welding, etc… between WCC in Long Beach, CA and Austin Speed Shop in Austin, Texas. Jesse has always had very nice looking websites, rich of content, frequently updated and reflective of his current activities and passions.

He just released a new one and this morning shot me an e-mail to tell me that he would like you to abandon my Blog for a few minutes (not too long, guys…) to check out what he is doing. His new Stage On The Web is multi-entry and each section has for objective to remind you that Jesse is still building and playing with bikes and ho-rods, that he is (again) selling custom parts, that he is actively promoting his own line of WCC apparel and Workwear via Walmart, that he continues to publish the Full Custom Living Garage Magazine, that if you visit WCC in Long beach you should grab a bite at his old-school but eco-friendly (yes, Jesse is “Green”) food stand named Cisco Burger, and that if you have a rant (who doesn’t have one) his Chopper Dogs section has no entry free or taxes. Now Jesse, you owe me one. West Coast Choppers.

Much more appealing than the traditional La-Z-Boy and making you feel much younger. It features headlights to help you look for the TV remote you lost again, mirrors to check on your wife in the kitchen, a footrest that you can kick to make vroom room via loud speakers just for your own rush of adrenaline. Looks good in a shop too to entertain clients waiting for their bike oil change.

For me, proof that too many men have a low self-esteem and still believe that size is the main and only thing. Ask her, it’s not!

So, I want to share a quick laugh with you about the pitch made by a brand called “Sexlets” offering gum, a chewy mix of yohimbe bark, orchic powder, royal jelly, damiana leaves, etc (less you know the words, more scientific it sounds), to increase blood flow and support a better stamina…The company behind the Sexlets Gum is so unconvinced about the results that the commercial argues that their gum will freshen your breath. On this, I may agree and I support the idea that a better breath will benefit your intimacy. So, I propose a new slogan “Freshen Your Breath Before You Get Fresh”. By the way, any very cheap tooth paste will work well or if you have $12 you want to lose, buy Sexlets Gum.

So, the old ones you see probably come from this company. It is entirely made of thick, tanned leather, pocket- less inside with a large compartment for your power tools, reinforced ends, a double-ply base with steel studs, and triple-riveted rolled loop handles. And if your wife says I want one to store magazines in the living room, say YES. Klein Tools Bag.

Can you hear engines screaming? Did you identify the 2 bikes? A 1934 Single Cylinder Crocker racing against a 1934 Harley-Davidson, a common sight at that time. You already know Jeff Decker as the creator of the 1:1 scale of Joe Petrali Knucklehead, of the 1:1 of Elvis Presley With His KH and of the monumental Hill Climber at the entrance of the Milwaukee Harley-Davidson Museum (a 2-year labor of love). This new sculpture will be introduced to the public at next week AMCA Davenport/Iowa Motorcycle Swap Meet). There will be only 29 copies. Learn more about the bronze art of Jeff Decker by visiting his digital studio (Photography Horst Roesler).

“My machined pizza cutters draw inspiration from chopper motorcycles that are built by people in a subculture that attempts to reclaim the mythology and economic usefulness of the American worker as patriarch. The outlaw as defiant nonconformist as well as social outcast is a parallel to being an artist who makes functional objects and an individual who takes pride in the power of labor, invention, and skill”. Hey, I could not say it better. Don’t rush to your local Bed Bath & Beyond. These pizza cutters are one-off and rich people who are always looking for a way to blow money supporting an artist will probably not slice any pizza with them. Like us, Frankie processes include machining, stamping, anodizing, and powder coating to create one of a kind functional objects. I declare him a full member of our custom motorcycle industry. See more of is art at Frankie Flood.

George Grieco call them mini cases, and they are a good place to carry all you need to carry because we are in 2009 and everybody, or almost everybody, has a cel. phone, an iPod, Credit Cards in addition to keys and maybe a pack or cigarette and lighter. These cases are made using high quality leather and vinyl. And they come in a variety of styles and colors and can be custom ordered to match your leather jacket or bike seat, for example. Velcro is used in the lid so it can be adjusted to fit what you are carrying. A pocket for credit cards comes in handy, and a belt loop holds it securely to your side.
The economy took a dive. This year, maybe you don’t take any vacation (also called “staycation”), or you cut on the number of rallies you are attending, or during Sturgis you are going to skip one or two concerts and refrain yourself from doing pit stops at all the Deadwood bars and casinos. You can still have fun at night in your Black Hills log cabin by inviting your friends for a few “financial crisis cards” games using a deck featuring the celebrities and infamous of our US economic debacle. Winning hands are: – Ace Of Spades: Bernard Madoff, the Ponzi-scheme extraordinaire. King of Spades: (Alan Greenspan (former Federal Reserve chairman)
King of Hearts: Angelo Mozilo (former CEO, Countrywide Financial, current defendant in civil fraud case for insider trading)
–King of Clubs: Richard Fuld (former CEO, Lehman Brothers)
–Ace of Diamonds: Ben Bernanke (current Federal Reserve Chairman)
–Ace of Clubs: Jim Cramer (CNBC stock jock). We can still have fun in any economy, right? Only $5.95 = shipping. Financial Crisis Most Wanted Playing Cards

Although I must have been “briefed” by about 2 dozens of manufacturers wanting me to endorse their products I am not an expert in bike wash and detailing. I just know 1- the meaning of clean when I see it. 2- that you are better off to do it yourself than to give your bike to the first “Girls Bike Wash” you see when arriving in a rally…
This intro to let you know that “Wizards Bike Wash” is not only another product promising to let you foam away any grime, oil, brake dust, degrease engine/wheels without damaging your paint/chrome/plastics, but that by buying a 22 oz bottle you can help a charity called “Guide Dogs Of America”. This association is dedicated to its mission to provide guide dogs and instruction of their use, free of charge, to blind and visually impaired men and women from the United States and Canada. Starting June 15th, Wizards will donate $1 to the Guide Dogs of America organization for every bottle of Wizards Bike Wash purchased. So, I just gave you at least one good reason to try this product.

When I was young studying marketing & advertising at the Paris University, one of the first things I learned is that (sometimes) provocation equals seduction. Well Mike Belland from A1 Cycles must think same to name “Slut Life” his new line of clothing. He tells me that his line is sizzling, sexy beyond belief, and to convince me to come to check it out at the launch party, he mentioned that there will be more pin-ups than I can handle…(this is also called provocation). Anyway, in case I can’t handle all of them, you are also invited Thursday June 4th, from 7 to 11pm at the Cottage, 522 Lucern Avenue, Lake Worth, FL. The wild bash will feature live music by kick-ass bands. original wares of crafty vendors, tattoo artists, car clubs, a charity raffle and even a blood drive. Any questions? Call Melissa 561.927.7331.

If you love the Maltese design (it belongs to public domain as the opposite of what many people think) and are looking for a new (or rally only) timepiece, these 2 watches look pretty good to me and are quite reasonably priced at $225. They feature white or black Mother Of Pearl with Applied Die Cut Art Raised Maltese Hour Markings. Diameter is 36 mm with a ten-year warranty. Hardcore Watches.

Personally, I never thought too much about it although…I felt it a lot. In New Orleans, I had to have my display next to David Hall of Gusset Jeans, to receive my 1st lesson in jeans anatomy.

Ladies and gentlemen, listen to me: ordinary jeans are constructed with a single center seam from front to back and up the legs. These seams are usually sewn with a “fell” fold. This means you are wearing jeans that have 8 ply seams, and they all come together at the same place. Very uncomfortable for both men & women. In 1987, David Hall invented the Gusset Jeans incorporating a “delta” shaped piece of material sewn into the crotch of the jean. This allows stress to be redistributed around the crotch area, allowing greater freedom of movement, comfort and strength. As an added benefit, the original set-turn-and-topstitch construction is stronger and less thick. The result is 3 ply leg seams, and only 9 ply thick at the crotch (not 16!). Now, everybody reading my Blog buys at least one to feel comfortable when reading my daily posts. Made in USA. Gusset Jeans.

You know that to have indoor plants help you purify air. I will not show you this new light if I didn’t like the design and the concept. If you live in a big city condo, planting grass can help you escape the concrete induced blues. Or you could grow some Parsley herb for home cooking seasoning. The LightPot is equipped with a LED light built telescope and can enable growth when placed anywhere even in low light. And of course, it’s a desk lamp. It is the work of Shula Studio, is at the protype stage and should be available very soon. Via Designboom.

Like, did you know that you can improve the way people pull their zipper tab, split rings without busting their finger nails, etc. Well, and doing it in style like making the S&S engine the ornament of all your zips, pins, key chains and clips. And guess what? They are EPA compliant, cast of lead free pewter and proudly made in America! At Zip-U.
