Long time that S&S Cycle didn’t release a new product. Brand new for the coming riding season, the Viola, WI company is launching their new Stealth air cleaners, a series offering bikers a lot of flexibility at correct prices. An addition to the S&S Super Stock™ line of intake they are called Stealth because they let owners of 1999 and later Harley-Davidson® Big twins to improve flow and horsepower. They will accept the stock outer air cleaner cover so your bike looks stock and nobody will know you have a little something extra going for you, an S&S air cleaner.
Internal design is similar to the traditional S&S teardrop air cleaners, in that the back plate forms a radiused inlet, like a mini air horn, and there is a directional “stinger” cone that direct air towards the center of the radiused inlet. The radiused inlet and the directional cone are designed to let air flow smoothly into the carb or throttle body with less turbulence, hence better flow. And as you all know more flow equals more power!
But while dome riders may choose to keep the stock appearance, I know that most will want a different look. For the second group, S&S has several new air cleaner covers to choose from. You can pick the cover that works best with the styling of your bike. Note that S&S offers Stealth air cleaner kits for 1991 and later Sportster® and 1993-’99 Evolution® powered big twins, but the stock covers for these models will not fit the Stealth air cleaners. They can still get the performance boost of the S&S design, but they will need to use one of the covers offered.
For the traditionalist, there is the Air Stream cover, an updated version of the classic S&S teardrop. For those looking for more custom flair, offers the Bobber and Muscle covers. These are small diameter round covers that leave the filter element exposed for a high performance “don’t mess with m”e look and a performance boost, as well. The Muscle cover uses hot rod style hood pins to hold the cover on. The new Air Stream, Bobber, and Muscle covers for the Stealth air cleaners are available in show quality chrome or Black Jack (wrinkle black) finish. More info at http://www.sscycle.com/stealth
Now this is some cool stuff! I like all of the designs…..and will be using this product.

Something new from S&S is always good news. Long time…
Looks like an Arlen Ness Big Suck breather.

Don’t think the Ness set up uses the “stinger” design on the backside of the air cleaner cover though. I like all of these designs. I’d buy these before looking for something else.
Where are these made? Not too appealing in my humble opinion.
If you can’t find a style among this lot to please you, well, you are very hard to please. Once again S&S have nicely balanced form and function.
S&S knows their poop when it comes to airflow/carbs [and I ain’t talkin’ hydrates]. They are the BEST!! Wiz
The little “hood pins” are cool!
whoa, a new product in 5 years and it’s an aircleaner….. how original. Can’t wait for the brand new and revised S&S keychain.
made in Taiwan?
Bradley. This is Bruce at S&S Cycle. In todays economic climate I can see that some folks might assume that a new product is made overseas. However, the Stealth air cleaners are made here in the USA! Take a look at our web site. Here’s a link. http://www.sscycle.com/stealth
There will also be an article coming out in Iron Works Magazine this spring about how the back plates are made. It will detail how they are cast at Le Sueur Industries in Le Sueur, Minnesota and how they are powder coated and machined in house at S&S. The teardrop shaped Airstream covers are a stamping made made by Innovative Technologies in Horicon, Wisconsin. The round Bobber and Muscle covers are machined from billet aluminum here in Viola, Wisconsin.
Made in the USA! Buy American!
@Rider2
Actually S&S came out with EZ start cams less than 5 years ago, As well as 106″ big bore kits, 97″ kits, I don’t think the key chains will be redesigned for awhile they still out perform everyone else’s key chains.
I have been dealing with S&S for some time and i give these folks credit they still believe in the good old USA, Keep up the good work and keep it American….
Classy design from a class A company. The best is worth waiting for.
What a great looking product made by a World Class Metal Stamper, Innovative Technologies located in Horicon, WI.
No complaints on this end, silmpy a good piece.
