A Lot Going On At Long Beach International Motorcycle Show Dec 9-11, 2011

The event will start Friday December 9 with a media day from 11:30 a.m to 4 p.m., with opening to the public after 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Major brands like Victory, BMW, Ducati, Honda, Harley-Davidson, Triumph, Yamaha and more are set to unveil new bikes.

Victory Motorcycles at 12.45 p.m. – Actor and motorcycle rider R. Lee Ermey, best known for his role in the movie Full Metal Jacket and on the History Channel’s Mail Call, will kick off his inaugural Toys for Tots Saddlebag Challenge and will receive a customized motorcycle. At 5 p.m. World debut of new model Victory Motorcycle at Victory display.

Harley-Davidson at 1 p.m. will reveal a 1931 Model C as to kick-off three major new 2012 exhibits coming to the Harley-Davidson museum: Watercolors by Willie G. (the first art exhibit of its kind); Journey of the Iron Elite; and Worn to Be Wild. A custom motorcycle will be revealed for a grand prize winner in support of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, dedicated to raising money to support the families of firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Kawasaki at 1:15 p.m. Nine-time Drag Racing Champion Rickey Gadson will announce a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for four lucky riders to race against Gadson for the chance to win his 2012 Ninja ZX-14R.

BMW at 1.30 pm. North American debut of new Maxi-Scooters – C 600 Sport and C650 GT and BMW Superbike S 1000 RR by VP of BMW Motorrad USA Pieter de Waal

Triumph at 1:45 p.m. Triumph North America CEO Greg Heichelbech to formally introduce the U.S. market to two exciting new models, the Speed Triple R roadster and the all-new, shaft-drive Tiger Explorer adventure tourer, in anticipation of Triumph’s 110th anniversary

Honda at 2 p.m. American Honda to showcase the CBR1000RR and VFR1200F both which received an infusion of new technology for 2012; and the iconic luxury touring 2012 Gold Wing. Also

Yamaha/Star at 3 p.m. Yamaha to unveil a custom YZF-R6 built by SSB/Yamaha amateur virtual bike show winner Ramsey Ackad and Star motorcycles to unveil a special custom Road Star designed by renowned fabricator Sam Nehme. Monster Energy/Graves Yamaha and Two-time AMA Superbike Champion Josh Hayes, Team Monster Energy Tech 3 MotoGP Rider Cal Crutchlow, and Factory Yamaha MotoGP Rider Ben Spies will all be on hand for a brief interview session.
