After introducing you to the shop Rods & Rides and to their “Ol’ 37” custom, another of their bikes that they were showing during Daytona Biketoberfest, Called the “S” bike, S is short for Scwhinn, inspiration for this creation being the famous bicycle company… and, everybody has already noticed, some of the customs produced by custom builder Jesse Rooke.
Frame was not built in house, like for most of the bikes that the shop is building. The frame was purchased through a good friend Mike Simms form MMW. Mike said to Rods and Rides owner T.D Ward “You build some sick stuff, see what you can do with this one”. T.D wanted the bike to be similar to the Rooke design but with less tail section and a true old school Schwinn bicycle look. The bike also had to have a gangster look to make it appealing to him.
Chosen driveline was the one used on most of R&R bikes use. A trio Ultima El Bruto 127” engine, Ultima transmission and Ultima primary system, the choice of this brand being justified by T.D Ward as a wish to work with a neighbor in St. Louis, Missouri. Something you will not notice on the “S” bike pictures is the use of an EFM automatic Clutch to get the cleanest look possible. Shifter was conceived to simulate the old bicycle shifter used back in the day and was created from pieces by Jason Hicks from Just Hawgs. A fine tribute to Schwinn … and Jesse Rooke. Certainly cannot deny the quality of the “fit” & “finish” of this one! Not something that I would go cross country but a nice looking bike never the less! Good job guys.
While the bike looks very cool, with that style front end and the trail forever changing as you travel down the road (especially on the roads in the Midwest), that thing must be a real Mother to ride…but that’s just me.

MMM built that frame to resemble a Rooke frame? That IS a Rooke frame, or at least an EXACT copy. Cool bike but what am odd way to explain the kmocked off frame.
Those bars are Wicked Apes? They look like Yaffe’s.
Good eye on the variable trail Iron Horse. Especially, with that engine, one might go wig-wagging down the road under hard acceleration.

I know it was mentioned in the article but it looks like a Rooke copy. Not a bad thing but it’s been done by Jesse many times over. I guess copying is the sincerest form of flattery…
I like the look of it, it may not be a practical bike to ride but it just looks fun.

Very nice piece of artwork! Lotsa hard work, dedication, determination & more went into this masterpiece. Of course they weren’t thinking of riding cross-country or any long hauls…..it’s about making a beautiful machine. Justa few things I don’t understand……I mean Jesse’s the man and all that, but WTF’s up with no heat shields to cover up the bluing? We all know those famous Hell Bent pipes are “HOT” as hell on the ole right leg, but look so cool……but the main issue or idea I would’ve went with is a black CSC “Rapide” headlight and matching air cleaner……It’s still cool tho…I like it!

Craftmanship looks excellent, as for the finished product, looks like it was inspired by Fisher-Price, the Big Wheel.
