Can it be a better example of the return of the motorcycle industry to pure organic forms where beauty resides in the minimum form necessary to make a part function correctly?
Over tortured designs with sharp edges made for fake warriors, pirates and gladiators on 2 wheels in need to show their manhood are over. You must admit that some custom motorcycle part designs had reached the point of being ridicule and made your bike (and you?) the object of many jokes. Relief…
Acme triple trees, in polish, chrome or black have smooth lines with bull nose corner radiuses, are thick as much as necessary (3/4-inch), made of thick cold-rolled steel plate. The top tree is drilled on 3.5” centers to accept stock and most aftermarket bar clamps, and the lower tree features a simple drilled stalk fore of the steer tube for easy headlight mounting.
Available in narrow and wide glide setups. $300.00. Can this triple tree form inspire your new built Bobber or Chopper lines? Acme Choppers.
Simply put, simply gorgeous.
Wish I could afford another ride just to build it around these.
I enjoy writing and prose, but I had to read the second paragraph about 5 times before it made sense…
I understood right away. Cyril is talking about over complicated part shapes, usually as sharp as knives…So, pirates, gladiators, warriors..
I got there, it just took a couple reads…
When I watch this (4/5 times) I get emotional.
NO INTERNAL STEERING STOP HOLES (4) DRILLED? AND NO HOLES FOR UPRIGHT EXTERNAL STOPS? CANT SEE NEED A BIGGER PICTURE..THEY LOOK GREAT BUT WITHOUT STOPS YOUR TANK WONT LOOK SO GREAT…JUST SAYING..FORM OVER FUNCTION?
No provision for a cup holder? WTF
looks like a slot in the rear area of the bottom tree.. Little tab welded to the bottom of the neck for a stop would be my guess
Steel? What the
your righr johhny…looked like a shadow to me..but yeah a little tab on the neck would be clean and bulletproof
If form follows function in design then Steve Storz builds the most elegant of triple trees. Strength where it’s needed, light weight where not. Purpose built to suit a particular purpose…
the acme trees have a standard fork stop groove machined into the lower tree, it’s the pro one internal style that most custom bike builders use these days , and you don’t have to bolt it on …….it’s already there !
Looks great, and perfect finish.
Rather than rant and rave about what you can or can’t see on these photos, consider visiting the manufacturer’s website for a closer look before pillorying the “scoundrel” who might have failed to create your vision of triple tree perfection. http://www.Acmechoppers.net.
I’ve used Acme trees on one build and seen them on two others, so I can tell you: these things are perfect. Cyril’s prose might have been inspired by the copy of the Acme Choppers website. These guys are taking the clean aesthetic to the nth degree, and their reasons for doing so are explained in detail on this beautifully illustrated and informative e-store website.
Kudos, Acme Choppers and Cyril Huze for attempting to advance the establishment with mercifully under-decorated chopper goods and services.
Now, back to press releases about 330mm tires, Arlen Ness stretch limo-inspired choppers and Paul Jr. T-shirts…
