However, trucking a perfectly good scooter home is Lame and deserves max-shit.

I certainly don’t fault Pitt for collecting V-twins, I fault him for boo-hooing about paparazzi capturing his every move on film, then riding a bike that’s beyond his skill level in one of the most heavily populated cities in the country, when all the while there are untold miles of excellent riding roads very nearby that aren’t crowded and don’t have scores of onlookers.

In other words, if he valued his privacy as much as he claims, you’d think he wouldn’t go out of his way to be seen showing off his new toy in crowded downtown Los Angeles. To me this labels him as yet another rich “look at me” wannabe who’s got the money but not the common sense.

I’ve been riding foot clutch, suicide clutch bikes (not all spring loaded foot clutch are suicides), and regular foot shift bikes for decades. And I still goof up in public from time to time. Big deal, I climb back on just like Brad did. My hat’s off to him.

Why all the petty trashing on Pitt? – The guys a bike junkie like the rest of us. It just so happens he makes his coin working in film. He has a pretty cool collection that he keeps low key. I’ve heard from builders that he’s a real decent guy – likes to talk shop and be around machines. His night ride ain’t too shabby either.

To paraphrase what I wrote at my site Sunday, if Brad was so concerned about paparazzi, choosing to ride a hand shift bike with a suicide clutch in crowded downtown L.A. traffic doesn’t seem very smart, especially when you consider all the uncrowded roads in the canyons, foothills and coastal areas around L.A. that make for some excellent riding (I should know, that’s where I grew up).

I can only conclude that he enjoys the attention more than the ride.
