As technology increases and generators get smaller and more effective there will be no need for batteries other than starting a small micro engine that would turn the small gererator that powers the electric motors. Engines can run on many differant types of fuel. Has anyone else seen the show about the two guys that travel from one coast to the other coast at a zero cost using the cooking oils from McDonalds. That oil burns clean, smells like frys, but burns clean and McDonalds uses so much of that vege-oil that they could provide about 5 % of the needed fuel for this country. Add in the rest of the food chains and you have 10% or more of the needed oils.
