I seen Kirk at the VTwin show this weekend. He was toteing around some young guy, introducing him to everyone. I assume this is the new owner, and hopefully he will breathe some life back into a that could use a facelift. This new guy seemed too smart to be taking over the debt of the company, so I think height have something up his sleeve.

We personally know Kirk and Linda. We have built the blown bagger 25th anniversary bike for his company. We have done the v-twin expo with him as a vendor for our wide drive kit. Kirk is and has always been a fair man and a stand up businessman. I have not yet in my 12 years of doing only HD'S run into a more sincere and passionate man about what he has accomplished and wanting to still accomplish in OUR industry. I know personally that his next passion is for writing books to include his family in his next dream. I can only see this as NOT another bike business CLOSING.....I see this as an opportunity for someone else to hopefully fullfill there dream. I wish only the future owner the best of luck!

I know Kirk personally and was at the facility recently. This business is in as good of shape as any out there in my opinion. They do great work and have many cool products. He is a mover and shaker and ready to do something else I would say. The kids are grown up and he and Linda are going to probably go for a ride on the bike, in his Corvette, or hang out at their pool.

ASA,

This company, when looking at the asking price alone, does not exactly reek of success. $880K is mere pennies of a sale price of even a small company Mom & Pop company let alone a company with a history such as Sumax. I would think that the “Sumax” name alone would be worth the asking price for the entire business ????? Obviously Sumax is located in a Lease Facility and one can only guess what the debt of the company is. Sounds to me like it is a sale of “Give me $880K and assume the debt and it is yours”. Whatever the case I wish them well in their sales efforts.

Over & Out,

Jeff

This is not another company out of business ,Its a man realizing the next level of his dream . He has a great business and plenty of work to do just from large corps alone . If anyone had the money and the heart to carry on a American dream this one would be a great oppunitunity. I hope someday to be able to leave my company when it is on the top like this one is . Thats the way you are supposed to do it guys .Not milk it for all its worth and hope somebody buys it that can revive it . Just my two cents worth . Ab

Kirk has done some excellent work in the industry and is well respected amongst his peers.

I wish him all the best with his books and hope he finds a buyer with the heart that he has to carry Sumax forward.
