How right you are Adam !

But do a Google seach for " QuiMoto " a concept I designed and made in 1992, In the USA by a US company, But like many things here in the US never got past a full size concept modell due to the lack of future thinking by US Banks and funding options.

Sad, we can come up with the idears, and the people to buy it, but we have to borrow money from China because we wont pay out to buy American, Long live WallMart !

Big Will,
I'm with you, but CARB in California assures that due to farting, your horse will be classified as "off road use only"!

COMPLETE HOAX!

Please remove this ad from the Blog, it is an inaccurate email forward that makes China look like the good guy, when in reality they had ZERO to do with the project shown. Even Wikipedia knows all about this car. The pictures have recently been repackaged as an email forward that is full of complete lies and should be treated as a Hoax email.

The pictures are accurate, but most claims are not. The car in the pictures was built as a prototype in 2002 by VW, it's a 2 seater, with the seats in tandem, one infront of the other. At the time, they were achieving 235 mpg out of a 299cc single cylinder diesel that produced 8.5 hp. The car has a Cd of .159, and a total weight less than 639 lbs, which is incredible. The downside is that in 2002 it cost $47,000US to produce. The $600 quote in the email is completely inaccurate. They canceled the program in 2005, but supposedly started it back up in late 2007. In 2007 they were saying it should be available by 2010, and by changing some of the exotic materials used in the original prototype, they could in theory get the price to produce down to $30,000 US. The prototype was a carbon fiber skinned Magnesium frame car, with every component designed for weight savings, not for low production costs. Even the Chinese can't knock off a duplicate of this for $600.

I suppose these little things have their place in the cities, but certaily do not belong in my neighborhood... lots of steep hills, narrow winding roads, basically a little more engine than one of these can provide. Add the number of semi trucks and disaster is eminent.. but like I said, probably OK in congested, slower, inner city traffic.

Hell, for $600 I would take a couple of them. Best of all they are disposable! These cars/trikes would be great at ROT in Austin, once I fit one of my engines in them anyway.

Over & Out,

China is involved with low-carbon [ FOOT PRINT ] energy solutions [ hard to believe ] and India has taken a course of stricter regulations.
I did not say that China is clean but for them to survive they will have to change from their present stance.
China and India are to large population wise to ignore the future.

It's not just about climate change it's about who will have the ability to develop in the future to reduce greenhouse gases and oil independence.

All forms of transportation will have to make concessions regardless of the percentage of impact on the enviroment.

Remember years back when strict laws were implemented on the old lawnmower engine manufacturers. many two strokes at the time.

The US is trailing Europe by a decade and may now see China fly right past while we're still mired in the debate. The debate is OVER! Time to roll up our sleeves and get to work,
