Billy had a history of drinking related problems long before he killed anyone…
Alcoholism is a disease a progressive disease that always has serious cosequences if not treated. There are no winners only losers with this disease on both sides. It does not make him a bad person just another statistic along with the person that died… I don’t know what the answer is… Tougher laws don’t seem to work… Some people just don’t get it before it’s too late… A friend of Bill W.

Well, Ill tell what I feel on this. Billy is a good friend and has been since the day I met him with Jesse when I was 12. Great guy who made some bad choices in life, who has’nt? He killed someone, he has to live with that the rest of his life. I dotn feel that taking a life is worth jail time in the long run because Billy, being the truly compasionate person he is, will live with it forever. This tears him up every second of every day and now he is in jail for 6 years ( possibly 3 with good time and parole) no license once he is out and 3 years probation. I feel for him , his parents and the victims family as well.

See you when you are out brother, stay strong in there and draw up some ideas for when you are out and capable of using your talent once again.,

First this is about life, Billy took a life while intoxicated, his resources weren’t as vast as a multi-millionaire football players plus this country has developed double standards when it comes to the race issue, reverse discrimination is the status quote these days.. they both took a life, common sense says the sentence should be the same, or as one put it the Black guy should of got “Life”..Thats not how it works anymore in America. White liberals , black activists have got America scared and playing the “N” card and flashing some “Cash” gets you places in todays America..If everyone wants equality it should start to be practiced at some point in this country…

Billy chose to drive while drunk, he is paying a price, if it is just it’s not for me to say, the Black guy chose to do the same, is it fair he had money and the color of his skin may have got him a lesser sentence, Again I can only express an opinion and the blame rests squarely on the shoulders of the White race for letting this happen..When kindness and chairity is given and recieved with humble appreciation it is a blessing, when it is expected and demanded and turned against the giver it is a travisty..Some will call this racist, racisim is a 2 way street..I respect a man or woman who pays their own way regardless of there skin color. The majority of Blacks are just as racist as whites or latino or what ever… Respecting a life is a good first step…

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Moerlock family and Billy as well. What happened is something no one would ever hope to have happen. I spent time at Billy’s with one of my students for the last Biker Build off episode, he was kind enough to invite us out and treated us with nothing but respect and was interested in seeing my student learn a few techniques and have a good experience there. Working with kids I know how they idolize him and I know he will use this tragedy to try and help spread the word and his story on the effects of what has happened with this accident. I know that after his prison term is over that he will work hard to try and make sure this doesn’t happen to anyone else.

the few times i met billy lane at trade shows and mc events the guy was arrogant, drunk and basically an asshole. thats what happens when you get a little popularity and start makin some money sellin junk parts that don’t fit. i,ve been in this business for 20 years and it’s full of no talent, got lucky jerks just like him who know just enough to talk the talk. at one show i was at his bike burnt to the ground from wiring problem i seen him alter a gas tank and forget to put in a bung to fill it up. it dont take a lot of talent to but a part alter somewhat and call it custom it also ain’t hard to draw a picture or better yet take someone elses idea alter it take it to a machine shop and have it made. he doesn’t make those footpegs himself he don’t know how to run the machine. but he knows how to drink and be beligerant.when i got busted years ago i did my time and didn’t hide behind a crew of lawyers the only thing this guy did is try evrything he could to get out of it so he could continue to party. for once in his life he has to account for results of his actions. do your time and quit snivelin.get out and do a better job than you did before then we will measure your manhood.

The court system is not and has never been truly “fair” Give it a rest all you haters, Billy Lane has lost all his possessions, his license, 6 years of his life, and has accepted a lifetime heavy load on his conscience for being responsible for someones death. I feel sorry for the family of the victim, and I know money does not replace a loved one however, truth be told they have been compensated monetarily alot more than many victims families. What is the saying? YE WITHOUT SIN CAST THE FIRST STONE.

Billy remains one of us, period.
He has been living this nightmare for three years now, paid off the family Morelock, lost all his money, admitted his guilt, took his lumps (listened to more bullshit from stupid people than any of us ever would) and will now spend five point two months incarcerated. That’s eight years, and big, big dollars in restitution so far, and let us not forget he has the moral sentencing in his own head and on his heart until the day HE dies that he fucked up.

I respectfully disagree with A-1 Cycles. I am confident that he would have felt a little differently had it been his brother or son who was killed. Look at this way it could have been 15 years instead of 6 years. I hardly think BL’s story would be a role model for any young kid to follow. He only got a haircut and covered the tattoos up to look good for court……..the advise of a overpaid lawyer. I also think it is wrong to assume one is a hater because one wanted to see justice applied to a criminal.

first of all to everyone out there, my thoughts go out to the family for thier loss (THE MORELOCKS) second what some people forget is that billy will be out in less than six years. i think that the sentance was reasonable considering , just prior to this horrific accident that left a family fatherless, a parent to loss thier son before his time. and a loss of a friend to many for ever, with nothing but memories! billy lane was arrested and charged with dui about a few months before the horrific accident, for driving drunk down a street the wrong way. there is a pattern here. anybody that knows billy or is honest enough to admit the truth knows he was ALWAYS drunk . it was just a matter of time. an accident it was!!! but how many times are you going to test the waters before it bites you in the ass. unfortunatly it was at someone elses expense. i wish that people took responsability weather they are a normal average person(MAILMAN , BARBER , BIKE BUILDER) as for dante stallworth, he walked away he took a plea and basically paid off the family. letsc not forget the facts are differant in his case, he struck someone who was crossing illegaly on the causway. billy illegaly crossed a double yellow line to pass a vehical in front of him, at that point stricking the victom. alot more at fault than d.stallworth, but with the same tragic end. when billy gets out his life will continue, i hope he vaues his life more the next chance he gets, at that point everybody elses life will be safer

I’m sure he has learned a hard lesson & will prosper…. hopefully mentor, and help others in the process. very very sad….. i’m sure he has to deal with alot being a biker, hitting a scooter & killing the rider…he’d be much better off in society as a educator and raising awareness. What a waste!

Dante Stallworth of the Cleveland Browns in Florida this year killed a pedestrain , he had pot and was legally drunk. Same crime as Billy , vehicular homicide He got 30 days in jail and is suspended from he NFL for one year . Same crime .same state, whats up America selective punishment this is not a country where justice is equal. Whats next ,round up people that are not liked and put them in concentration camps. so, Leonard Little, St. Louis Rams DE, runs a red light while drunk & kills a woman, gets 1 week in jail & 5 years probation, doesn’t lose his DL & when the probation is up, he gets the felony removed from his record.

Donte Stallworth, Cleveland Browns WR, is drunk, kills a pedestrian who walked in front of him & gets 30 days in jail & loses his DL for life & gets suspended from the NFL for 1 year.

Billy Lane is drunk, gets in an accident, kills someone & goes to prison for 6 years, with 3 years probation & loses his DL for life.

In fact I have been around Billy in the past and always kept my distance for my own reasons.
I did not know the man on a personal level like others. Billy set a first impression with me so I kept my distance untill that image is/was changed. Today it was

Fuji…………..Yeah Billy stood tall (behind his gang of lawyers), after cutting his hair, and “changing” his “life’s” style…………….It only took 3 years of BS to finally get to today’s sentencing. 6 years is better then the 9 he could have gotten and is a far cry from the max of 15, that most “regular” folks would have received, but Gerald Morelock’s gonna be dead forever. Save your admiration for a real “hero” because BL not even close.

I think what Steve is saying is that “there by the Gace of God go I” ….. we have all fucked up and anyone who tells you different is either Jesus Christ or a liar. Some of us fuck up on a lesser level some on a larger level. You do not drink and drive ….. good for you …. neither do I, however, God forbid you or I or anyone else could be a victim of a drunk driver …. then where would you be?

Billy fucked up and now he will pay for it. I have known Billy for over 15 years and I like him and I believe Billy is a good person deep down inside. I am sure this has torn at his heart everyday and I have no doubt that if he could turn the situation around he would do so in a heart beat. Don’t get me wrong, Billy deserves what he has received and I agree with Steve that he will not do 6 years total …. I expect he will be paroled to his probation in 2-3 years and that is only fair.

Again, I wish all well in this matter and hopefully everyone can rest easier tonight.
