I will be writing many things about Sturgis and the events there.
I have submitted a article on Michael Lichters 9th Annual Motorcycle As Art Exhibit to Bikernet and I expect that everyone will enjoy it.
The exhibit was very well done and I am happy I was invited. I also suggested that others attend any future exhibits.
I would like to note that Michael, his staff and everyone involved with the Buffalo Chip did a excellent job with everything that went on at the Chip.
Hopefully no one has said differently or thought that I was.
Steven Tyler was out of hand in the incident I mentioned and that is on him and No One Else.
I believe the comments of others who were there clearly state that.
I do enjoy being at the Buffalo Chip and did have a very good time at all the activities I was able to attend there and will continue to suggest people consider it in future visits to Sturgis.

Bean’re, you must be clean and sober for 21 years to remember the details of my wallet when we met again back stage. Very Impressive I must say.
I spent a large chunk of the day on monday riding around with Steven and his entourage, we got separated from the rest of the pack on the legends ride. I was fortunate enough to get some good riding in for a change which was nice, but every time would pull in for gas or water, all hell would break loose. It was insane, whenever people saw him they would turn into raving lunatics. The body guards were cordial and Steven did not turn down 1 person for a photo, and there were many. I asked his friends if he got sick of everyone pulling at him. They answered he never refuses anyone.
When we stopped at rushmore I noticed he was limping badly, I found out that he recently had a complicated foot surgery. Amazing that he was moving as well as he was during the concert, and I am not at all surprised that he lost his balance. The entire time before the concert backstage with the Aerosmith camp, I could not find a single beer, I had to go out front to find any spirits at all. Just before the concert started, I was invited to go in to Steven’s dressing room to wish him luck, he was working out with weights drinking different concoctions of vitamin waters. When he finally went on stage he seemed to be on top of his game, coordinating with the team fluidly to support a concert of this size.
I unfortunately could not attend Mike’s show because of yet another wicked storm up in Deadwood. I can only say I came away with nothing but respect in my dealings with Steven and the whole group. I can also say that If I walked into rooms and people acted like I had witnessed earlier in the week, I would want a security detail available as well.

Rogue you are a treasured member of the motorcycle industry, the press and Sturgis. Rather than focusing on Tylers antics, (which I did not see happen) I wish you would have reported on all the link minded individuals who donated time, money and resources, providing motorcycles, artwork and memorbilia in support of Michael Lichter’s 9th annual Motorcycles as Art Exhibition. There will never be another world-class collection like this assembled in Sturgis again and I would have trusted you to apperciate and report on that more than anyone.

On a more positive note, Mike Greenwald you are not a representative of the Buffalo Chip and are not authorized to collect information or give opinions on our behalf in cyberspace or on the planet earth for that matter. Thanks, take it deep and have a nice day.

While Sturgis was happening I was busy in San Jose locating a set of pistons that were being replaced after 80,000 trouble free miles on a 124 inch motor .

See Ya next year or sooner .

Fired my hot rod Sat . last week , rode to the coast for a few cool break in miles , 199 round trip . Haulin ass to the Bikerner Intergalactic Headquarters in Wilmington , Ca. in the morning . With a possible run over to Wendover, Utah Thursday for the last day or two of Speed Week .

Ride safe and keep a tune-up handy , ya just never know .

I met him before the event and then at the event. I saw nothing like what you discribed but I will say that when some people are seen the first time, they are mis-interpeted. I have many times been thought to be high of wasteed when dooing some of my anticts of dressed outside the norm as I do. I have been clean and sober for 21 years in Sept. yet people will argue still to this day that when they met me I was crazy stoned or drunk.
As for him falling off the stage, The sound had gone completly off and the show was over till they fixed it. Steven tryed to keep it going by going out and dancing. He could have just given up and walked off the stage till who ever was responsible fixed the problem.

Why did everyone just part like the Red Sea for his group? I keep reading about him being a poser, sounds like he may have been in good company if a room fulla “real” bikers couldn’t deal with his ass-holiness coming down the aisle like a jerk. If there wasn’t a beat-down right there when needed why get brave on the keyboards later? I’m not a big guy, but i sure woulda made like Ghandi and simply refused to move. Been knocked down before and it’ll happen again.

I am not excusing anything Tyler did, but I remember him being in a bad motorcycle accident in the 70′s. He was hospitalized for a long time. I think he ripped off part of his heel on one of his feet.
I know it doesn’t make him a biker. If you find my memory is wrong, please let me know.

i saw Tyler on stage yakking about something outside the ML venue before the hall opened and he looked like the typical 61 year old heavily weighed down with jewelry 95 lb geezer rocker with his 20 yr old g/f in tow and the dude to me looked and sounded like a wack job…….as for the mob scene well typical iam bigger than god rock star mentality ……..payback is bitch and the the beatles said Instant karma is gonna get ……..to be honest it was REALLY nice to see Sturgis without all of our own media/tv builder darlings, like: Rooke Lane, James, Hotch, Mitchell or a cross armed, i dare you to come and buy something Ron Simms ect LOL i got to admit it was cool seeing Ron and his thugg crew cruising down Lazalle on their bikes

Nice to see the real builders still there like, Nasi, Cox, Trotta, Todd S, Jerry and Dave Covington and many others, rather than seeing the Hugh King builders.

As for the show I feel for Woody and Lon who did a great job out there all week and really didn’t need this BS or the weather!! The chip is still the best venue out there.

i recon these dudes haven’t seen a crowd that big in decades and Tyler probably looked out at it and went back and a took a double shot of the new RED BULL power shots and washed it down with some RED BULL COLA…….or was on the same stuff Jeremy Methfield was tested for in NASCAR ?

The guy who impressed me was Lorenzo Lamas at Jeff Clarks Burnout show down by the CC………..Lorenzo was gratuitous and polite and down to earth and offered to pay for a guys if he blew it out during the burn out comp……….. in the past when did you ever see the media darlings ever offer up a dime out of their pockets for any event?

Who says Tyler wants to be a Biker ! Who says He wants that Lifestyle.I have seen His home in Mass and the only item that he has that is Biker related is, the Bike that Rossmeyer gave him or Built for Him and the Plaques thanking Him for the work he has done on behalf of the “Toys for Tots” in South F. He was a marketing Tool that was introduced and exploited be Bruce. That is a little of His Introduction into Motorcycles.

What is really dispicable is bikers plan all year long to spend their vacation$ @ the Chip. Part of their decision to stay at or come to the Chip was specifically to see Aerosmith. Performing at the Chip in front of 10′s of thousands demands an act be in ‘Olympic’ shape. That’s what folks pay for & deserve – consideration for consideration. In$tead, Tyler $howed up/f’d up, fell down & the show got cut short. No excuse.

Ness and Huze are a good choice to teach him good manners in the motorcycle industry. Tyler has a lot to learn and a lot of people to convince he is a biker and even more that he can be a custom builder. Bad start for him. He is responsible for the behavior of his entourage. No excuse.
