Hello RobPittsburgh.
EXACTLY what is it about the quality that is differnet than the Gilroy bikes?
I've owned a Gilroy for 6 years--50k miles on him--and ridden a Stellican 8700 miles.
Quality of the Stellican seems no better -- maybe not on a par to the Gilroys.

I think the new bikes look awesome. I have yet to ride a new Indian yet. I like the WW2 theme and hope it is in some way a small tribute to the many men who sacrificed so much. I have a Harley but can't see any harm in some healthy competition just as in the old days. I just wish they weren't priced so much higher than HD.

"J",
I have an 02/03 custom chief and an '03 Vintage. I have ridden an '09 a couple times and honestly, imo, there is no comparison in the handling of the bikes. The '09s are very "neautral" and respond as asked. No muscle-ing in twisties and 6th gear is not in the equation until about 75-80mph...
I thought my next bike would be a torq and white vintage, but depending on how the rest of my year goes with work, the bomber and the dark horse may change my mind--I really like these schemes. One will retail for $28k and the other for $31k... awesome..

Hello Henry, I really like the look of this new Indian model and it should do well, just like I like my 41 Chief and other Indians of old I have so no I am not a HD guy persay.

But I have to ask is not the reason Harley is deeming the CVO model you allude to above a CVO is much because it falls outside the HP and displacement of their EPA submitted basis for production models?

I am looking at my Limited Edition 1981 HD Sturgis Shovelhead twin belt drive bike of a few years ago that I purchsed new as a limited edition and could list a few more. Point of note is not negative to either just that HD has in the past except where out of production performance not trim,
i.e. FXB was same in production model performance just limited trim, color and schemes and the twin belt differences.

Maybe HD dreamed up CVO terminology just to be Custom close in name but if different I am guessing its the performance upgrades?

Is the Indian model above any different other than esthetics, trim, etc. I do not know?

And yes the CVO is pretty high priced for its limited performance upgrades and individualism's but like the bike above worth it if its the one for you and definitely will not be on every street corner. Will check it out in Dakota.

Regards

Because it's getting more difficult to build a legal custom bike the trick to boost sales is for manufacturersto offer limited editions. The right move by Indian. HD should do same (CVO's are too expensive)..
