Everyone that voted for this BS will tell you " I don't think they don't care about the people or the country, they are trying to do the right thing ". I would recommend watching "Freedom to Fascism" and keep an eye out for Ron Paull. I do not recall who said this but here it is " The only way for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing " wake up out there !

I received this info from a friend earlier this morning and I thought it worth mentioning ....

Hold on to your wallets if you have acheived any success whatsoever. The new "Health Care Reform" bill that no one has read completely contains the following:

1. Small business with payroll of $250,000+ will pay an additional 8% payroll tax to fund the HCR. That is in addition to the 7.4% SSI and other state and local payroll taxes just for the priviledge of employing someone.

2. An individual making $250,000+ ($300,000 couple) will pay a 1% surtax. It is not enough that people in this income bracket already pay 90% of the federal taxes paid.

3. An individual making $1 Million+ will pay a 5.4% surtax. (Actually I read this morning that this figure has been lowered to $450,000!)

As onerous as this is the bottom line is that if the proposed taxes above do not generate the money necessary to pay for ObamaCare the taxes will double in short order.

And more frightening is that this is another 1000 page plus bill that has been presented at the last minute with no public input and none of those voting for it have even read it. Don't care if you are Dem or Rep that fact alone should scare the hell out of you.

And you supporters who say Obama is not a socialist. Karl Marx would be so proud.
"From those with the means to those with the need."

Over & Out,

Jeff

Jeff,

I hear ya, my friend........ :-(
But can't give up the ship just yet.

Finally finished putting in a new redwood deck and dock..
- over 2000 screw
- each screw countersunk 1/4 inch
- each needed a wooden plug cut
- each plug had-ta be glued into place over it's screw
- and belt sanded flush
- then the entire deck was sanded flat & stained

Am in the process of finishing off the Art-deco railing.
Will put the Redwood top-rail in place after i come back from this year's ride.

-BTW-
This year we're going back up into Montana (hopefully no more snow storms) and may swing through Sturgis on the way back home.
Could see ya there....????

Walt,

RE:
"...I suggest
we all chip in and buy him a plane ticket (one way) to any of these great countries he lauds
over the capitalist inspired US..."

Le-me suggest this an an alternative:
To all those "bikers" who want to live in a Socialist state, instead of trying to transform the country into their image of utopia how about letting them create their own Commune.

They get a lawyer to draw up a contract by which they can function communally.
Throw their pay checks and everything they own into the hat and Live The Dream.
It's been tired before (Onida Colony, Jones Town, Israil .....).

Hay G. De La.... go do that, then get back to us about "change."

I am sorry (Not Really) I have to pass this along for my liberal friends....

Sometimes you are encouraged about our country's future when you see something like this. Specifically, there is an annual contest at Texas A&M University calling for the most appropriate definition of a contemporary term.

This year's term was "Political Correctness."

The winner wrote:

"Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority,
and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth
the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

....and that my friends nails that!

Customfighterer: You have to be a shallow individual to assume disagreement with someone of a different ethnic background makes someone a racist. I know Teddy Kennedy is an alcoholic,
drug addicted, womanizing scion of a family whose source of wealth was aiding and abetting
orgaized criminals during prohibition. He is also guilty of at least vehicular homicide and drunk driving. I guess my disdain for him makes me anti-Irish?

Hey guys. It is not in your best interest to continue to argue your points with G. De Larosa.
Obviously none of us are intelligent enough to understand the brilliance before us. I suggest

Their system worked out so well for their citizens.

Nicker, Grayhawk & Icy,

Damn, I knew I should have gotten on my computer last night instead of watching the NHRA Finals from Denver ..... you guys have picked all the fresh meat off the bones of poor G. DeLaRosa.

One thing I might add: "G" maybe the President of The United States as well as ALL of the European leaders should come to Austin, Texas and sit down and look closely at this state and how we operate. Texas operates on a BALANCED BUDGET, without the need of personal income tax, or corporate income tax, no one is dying on the streets from lack of medical care and God knows we are taking care of a tremendous number of illegal aliens here. Further, numbers just released this morning show that new small business start ups, in the Great State of Texas, were up during the last 12 months (even in light of the current economic state in this country and the world) crime numbers state wide are down and, are you ready for this ..... Texas will bank a SURPLUS of apx $9 Billion Dollars this fiscal year. All this with a Republican Governor and Congress ...... imagine that!

Wish I could stay longer guys but it is Monday after all and we do have a little event in the Black Hills coming up that we have to get ready for. You are coming "G" aren't you?

Damn, I knew I should have gotten on my computer last night instead of watching the NHRA Finals from Denver ….. you guys have picked all the fresh meat off the bones of poor G. DeLaRosa.

One thing I might add: “G” maybe the President of The United States as well as ALL of the European leaders should come to Austin, Texas and sit down and look closely at this state and how we operate. Texas operates on a BALANCED BUDGET, without the need of personal income tax, or corporate income tax, no one is dying on the streets from lack of medical care and God knows we are taking care of a tremendous number of illegal aliens here. Further, numbers just released this morning show that new small business start ups, in the Great State of Texas, were up during the last 12 months (even in light of the current economic state in this country and the world) crime numbers state wide are down and, are you ready for this …..
Silly me, you got me G. De la, I did not know the Presidents and the Prime Ministers Governed, I thought they were of the Admistrative branches I always was under the premise the Congress's and Legislative branches/seats of governments governed unless under a dictatorship.

Plus I said most can be refernced if you read it before you started your hyper ventilating gotcha in type. The point with the one link and no it was not plural links referenced thus was making my point with respect to one point of reference not each and every one even the uneducated understands that and that you do not necessarily have to have worldly educations as such to list a few countries and look up the elected names and party ties just google each point of interest and you usually can get the info you want and a pretty good education awaits you if you read thru rhetoric and stick to resultant facts.

Thus the Presidents and Prime Ministers political affililations are just a click away if you need self humor or gratification as such your attempted baiting of Jeff was ridiculous. A child like homework assignment request you presented maybe I am off base maybe it was just your homework listing you were merely outsourcing help on.

Nicker seems to have crossed a border or two by choice as his rebuttal points reflect. I have been abroad a bit myself and love the historical beauty of a lot of places in the world and their cultural contributions to all but just happen to think America is still where I choose to be.

As far as your bailout point you might find if you sought it out that some of the first in line receipiants for and of the Banking and Wall Street bailout funds were not of the United States. But not many acknowledged same point. Not all Wall Street Companies are American solitaire some have no American affiliations other than the tapping of what was the worlds biggest economy; AIG's International make-up maybe for one?

I sure hope your not naive to the point you do not think Europeon leaders are not influenced by commerical interest because of law. Both sides of the pond are culpable.

Nicker. Very disappointed by your poor answers. You seem very confused. And now you talk about the part of your family trapped behind the Berlin Wall. What communism has to do with Obama policies? It's not the subject. Evidently you don't understand very much about our country politics and know zip about today's Western Europe. End of the discussion till' you educate yourself with an open mind.

G. Del....

RE:
"...because the mess was exported by the US to the rest of the world via foreign banks..."

Yes, because the US liberals tried to game the free market with unrealistic requirements.
And the market simply acted on those requirements to suit it's purposes (which is to make money, not redistribute capital).

RE:
"... european countries with a governing republican majority support and adopted the same economic measures that we know here as applied by President Obama..."

Sure, because they don't want a market solution, they want a Government management solution. And they want the bad debt they purchased from the US to be backed up (bailed out).

RE:
"...Universal Health coverage in Europe is a system by repartition..."

Yes, and like any under funded retirement system, the end-user will be shorted to make up that loss (see England).

RE:
"...Explain to me why a medication coming from a US pharmaceutical company is sold in Europe at 10% of the American price? ..."

Simple, Lawyers, Lawyers, Lawyers......
The cost and liability of drug development here is going through th roof. So, the drug Mfg.s are now moving off shore.

RE:
"...60% of bankruptcies in the US are linked to medical bills. In Europe: 0%. Btw there are no bankruptcy laws for individuals because they don’t need them...."

Don't know those stats.... ???
But, judging from my extended family living in Germany, If it hadn't been for my Uncle's building up a robust Engineering Company after the war, today my cousin (an Astro-Physicist) wouldn't be able to afford the house he lives in.

The part of the familiy that got trapped behind the Iron Curtain after the war is living a third world existence.

They haven't had the ability to over extend themselves financially. For an individual to go bankrupt in that context is not as relevant as it is here in the US.

Eactly what I thought. None of you has any cross-border political knowledge or understanding. Nicker and Graywawk.

1- The links you indicate give you the European election results. It's a party election. It's not a representation of who is the President (or Prime Minister) in each country! Far from it. A country may have a Republican President and a Democrat party representation in the European parliament. In addition there are from 3 to 12 political different parties in each European country.

2- Universal Health coverage in Europe is a system by repartition, like retirement. Everybody pays a percentage of his income with a ceiling. Everybody is covered at 100% all his life with no exclusion possible for pre-existing condition. Anyone can get any treatment, of his choice any time, immediately as many times he may need. Contrary to what the US Republicans pretend, nobody has ever to wait for any approval from a doctor or government to be treated. It's usual US republican propaganda to protect the pharmaceutical companies financing their elections. Europe has overall a much higher level of quality prestations than the US. Germany, UK, France have some of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world,

3- Explain to me why a medication coming from a US pharmaceutical company is sold in Europe at 10% of the American price? I tell you why. Because no US or local pharmaceutical company can lobby any government in Europe (because of the universal health system). By law, no commercial entity can finance any party.

4- 60% of bankruptcies in the US are linked to medical bills. In Europe: 0%. Btw there are no bankruptcy laws for individuals because they don't need them.

5- Kevin Langley is right. The most important european countries with a governing republican majority support and adopted the same economic measures that we know here as applied by President Obama. None of them, like Obama, think that it is fair to bailout those who created the mess. But unfortunately, there is no other choice. All G20 and G8 meetings include requests of its members that President Obama impose new regulations to Wall Street, Banks and Insurance companies because the mess was exported by the US to the rest of the world via foreign banks. And I want to add another example. There is no credit card debts in Europe because Europeans use (92% of them) debit cards, not revolving credit cards considered dumb financial instruments, except for banks of couse. There are no ELOC in Europe, So foreclosures are almost unknown. For this, it is a very healthy system. Not for everything, but for all the above, yes. I can also talk about the negative if you wish, but is it a motorcycle website?

If you wonder, I am born here, live here, but work part time and is paid in Europe with all its benefits. I don't say that Europe is better for everything, but none of l what you say is true.

G. De La, one doesn't have to be educated to play games, you only proved your educated enough to google but maybe not to interperate same charts, I am sure of one thing your right about ; Europe is not comprised of the same breakdown as Texas in political persuasions but one might bet a few of the Countries on that list that aren't any bigger or as big as a couple cities and their metro areas in Texas might wish they had Texas economics going on about now even in the mist of the threatening economical environment in Texas.

Sometimes it takes one that has lived in places outside what we take for granted to see what we might become if we keep changing for the perceived popular movements of the moment.

Most of the info you seek is on link below but it is for sure not my outlook for a better America and quite a few of their imigrants have come here despite all our faults. America can/has - be/been brought to its knees in an OPEC and Speculators driven oil price spiked heartbeat and the popping of a housing bubble that should never have been enabled by the corrupt entitled/leveraged/over extended of us to the levels of the unsustainable, when all happens in the same snapshot in time the train comes to a screeching halt. Only good side is it exposing every Ponzi Schemer, manipulator , crooked power seeking politically empowered self serving special interest puppets for what they are, bad side it is at the expense of America it's and our futures, yours included maybe.

Time to fix it it but not revert to centuries old failings of economic styles. God Bless Texas.

G. DeLa....

RE:
"....Which countries below are right now governed by a party in the center, center right & right?..."

What you or they call them selves or their government (Hitler called himself a National Socialist). What's more interesting is how these people's governments work for their constituents.

For example: In the UK the have no tolerance for "self defense".... Even a stake knife is considered an illegal weapon.

We all know this so regardless of the political "labels" anyone places on them.
Bottom-lien, they are not the sort-a place we're interested in living.
That's the real world knowledge that's required to stay free, not some Poli-Sci esoterica.

RE:
"...How many offer universal health insurance. How many offer it since more than 50 years? Which countries are considered to offer the best medical prestations in the world for the cheapest price ..."

Once again, the issue here is not about what you or they call it, rather the issue is over how it works, what it costs, and how it's funded.

I'm not at all interested in how many people are being "covered."
I'm interested in the quality of the service that is available at the time it is needed.

None of us care that 100% of Cubans can get free asparin.
Far more important is can they get an MRI when they need it?

That's my political metric for a free society, how it works for me, not what anyone calls it.

And, -BTW- i was born in Europe and managed to escape the "Socialist Quagmire."
If you think it's so cool, be my guest and go live there.
But leave the rest of us alone.

You are educated? Prove it. Which countries below are right now governed by a party in the center, center right & right? (The President & the Prime Minister may belong to 2 opposite parties). How many offer universal health insurance. How many offer it since more than 50 years? Which countries are considered to offer the best medical prestations in the world for the cheapest price? Which of these countries are right now, like here, helping their banks/ airlines/auto manufacturers/etc by lending taxpayer money.. What is the official jobless rates of these countries. Do your homework. You will learn something. At least, that Texas is not the center of the world.
