I rode to the H-D Musuem on my Panhead. We left (15 gals) on a very cloudy cool morning, and rode thru some rain – tho not too bad, to be welcomed by 350 other riders at the ’staging’ area for the ride in… turns out it was a pleasant day!
I was probably the only kick start in a sea of 350 bikes…I do wish other women appreciated the vintage bikes – and more rode them…..luckily I have some GF’s in Chicago that do and many men friends that do…..

You’re right Rodent.
Sammy was a damn hot awesome chick! Her love of motorcycles bypassed gender and met others at the thrill of the ride.
I carry her spirit with me in honor of having cross paths with such a great motorcyclist.

Sammy was riding motorcycles many years before the Motor Company said it was cool and she used a kick starter. How many of todays female riders know what it is or could use one?

Indeed, God bless the girls who love to saddle up…it is truly a special and lovely day of wild girl power… Vicki at Motoress is a passionate leader for us girls; she has a long history in the business of motorcycle education and as a kick a$$ race girl!

Let us remember our beautiful and stunningly talented Samantha Morgan on this International Women’s Motorcycle Day, and May is Women’s Motorcycle Month kick-off. Sammy girl will always be a major inspiration to all of us female riders. A true leader and lover of the art of riding. Though I’m not riding today, I keep Sammy in my heart today and ride iwith her high in my spirit, especially because that smile of hers and friendship will forever be emblazed in my mind and soul.

P.S. I’m only not riding because, well, in humility I admit as the one-two punch would have it…I’m sitting here with my beloved motorcycle in the garage because I’m deep in the economic hardship and I’m diligently searching for another job, so I can’t afford the $200 for tags and insurance for my darling bike, (and my van is broke down, too! dang!) but, everyday is a riding day to me! I’m confident that I’ll get Tigerlily back on the road in a few short weeks. All is well and God bless this day…fully alive.

Good responses. Nothing like supporting women riders I guess. Personally I’m a huge supporter of women riders and think thiis is a great idea. I’d like to see more women riding their own bikes.
