Dudes need a new agent- stupid sideways more for them, no real upside with this deal, only things that can go wrong.

If they really want to get serious about marketing, do what Jesse James did and move into cars and Celebrity Apprentice and stunt shows- separate from bikes entirely;

Both bikes and the Teutels would benefit from such a move……

There is a rumor that OCC is shooting a couple of new episodes for the Spaghetti-O’s corporate chopper build. The feeling was that the Ducati would provide the best starting point. Plans include custom- one-off billet wheels, forward controls with extended floorboards, a tooled leather over gel retro seat with coil springs, a handmade metal fuel tank, new laser cut metal fenders, raked triple trees, Custom made ape hangers with pull backs, and a Frank Sinatra recording of “My Way”.

Oh come on,you guys make it sound like the end of the world. It is a motorcycle. It is not living and breathing. I have seen a couple of their guys on old ducs way before any of this happened. So it is obvious that they like Ducati and decided to start selling them. I think it is a smart move on both parts. Whether you believe it or not,Ducati NEEDS to sell bikes otherwise there will be no Ducati motorcycle and this will bring them attention. Also believe it or not,there are alot of people who happen to think that OCC puts out a decent production bike that is well thought out,well engineered and utilizes some of the best parts out there. I have actually ridden one and know this from personal experience and speak with facts rather than emotion.

I’ev seen photos of this bike… and I’m sad to report that all your worst fears have been realized. They didn’t turn it into a chopper, and for that I’m glad. However, the “finished” product is an abomination. It may still handle well thanks to the Duck heritage, but the thing is seriously hard to look at.

Sounds like a marketing outlet for Ducati and a revenue source for OCC not so different then H-D buying MV Aprilia and a few Harley dealers branching out in Import brand dealerships as supplementals. Future market share my not be so much Domestic VTWIN as baby boomers slide into trikes and drop down support wheels with a factory cain holder on bike.

Additionally smaller bike market and cheaper heavy cruisers are friendlier on pocket book in harder times and usually gain market share/sales and produce additional/replacement revenue.

I don’t think anything bad about the OCC guys at all, BUT…this sounds like a bad idea waiting to happen. I really hope they don’t put a propane-powered pasta maker on the bike or build a gas tank shaped like a wine bottle. God help us all and that defenseless Ducati.

Ducati is like a Ferrari, there is absolutely no need to modify it or tinker with it. THEY BUILD THEM EXACTLY HOW THEY SHOULD BE BUILT FROM THE FACTORY.
