The bikers keep crying about not having a place to go, or boo-hoo this or boo-hoo that. What about the non-riders who are trying to enjoy their time at the beach w/o hearing woohooo, hell yeah, or seeing big butt black chicks riding on the back with thongs on? What GROWN mature person wants to see ghetto chicks throwing their tits out at redlights or 45 yr. old drunk redneck chicks with missing teeth doing the same? You bikers need to think about how you're also hurting business instead of just thinking how you're making business better. Myrtle Beach needs to do just like Va. Beach by bringing in more family business setting and less wild, sleezy events that advocate massive alcohol consumption, noise, and violence. Also bikers, look at what you guys (black and white bikers) do to the properties. You guys trash them!!! Don't give that spill about being "law abiding". Maybe there's a few of you, but not enough of you. Take your butts to the desert to have your events. Harley week is full of middle aged men suffering from mid life crisis, and black bike week is full of nasty ghetto hoes who walk around half naked, pulling out their boobs and showing their coochies for the right amount of money. People of MB and tourists have grown tired of such actions. MB may lose some revenue for a short while, but at least it will be enjoyable for the American family again!!!

I rode to Myrtle Beach this year from Mississippi just to do it. Me and my bro stayed in North Myrtle Beach and took the bypass to get to Murrell's Inlet to the bars. Yes, the Myrtle Beach cops were out in force BUT from what I saw they were pulling over bikers with no helmets (their helmet law, remember?) and/or the revvers, racers and other assorted idiots. We even rode to Broadway on the Beach and ate at Margaritaville...no hassles, in fact they were damned glad to see us! The Broken Spoke was a huge disappointment but Suck Bang Blow, Beaver Bar, Dead Dog Saloon and Hoof and Finz were all outstanding! Yes, Suck Bang Blow had a burnout pit and yes there were bikers doing burnouts...NO the cops did not hassle them for it. In fact the state and county cops were there directing traffic and not giving any biker a hard time.

As a matter of fact, I watched the Horry County cops pull over more CARS than bikes! A lot of F.U.M.B. shirts were seen and alot of the locals were wearing "Mayor Rhodes Sucks" t-shirts! Ate at the Hooters in North Myrtle Beach and talked with one of the girls who told us the main reason this happened was because of Black Bike Week! She told us about a group of them who ran up a $200 tab with her then walked out...real classy...that was brought to them courtesy of the NAACP and the ACLU who sued MB for racial discrimination because most of the locals would shut down before Black Bike Week...is it any wonder...their crime rate skyrockets during Black Bike Week...vandalization of property, rag racing, shoplifting...all are commonplace during Black Bike Week...and we saw NONE of that crap from our groups.

All in all it was a good time...North Myrtle and Murrell's Inlet are the places to be for Bike Week. Yes, there were friggin idiots revving up their $40,000 custom choppers...the funny part was watching them blow their ignition coils with the revving and not ahve a clue as to what's wrong with their bikes...but I will let that subject be...you can still ahve a good time, just do it AROUND Myrtle instead of IN Myrtle!

I have always loved Myrtle Beach and enjoyed many bike weeks there because it was a more relaxed and less sleazy event than others I have been to. l think it is a shame that Myrtle has decided to cancel this event , I also thought it was a shame for them to destroy the Pavilion too. I have been going to Myrtle since birth , and until my last visit I never felt unsafe to take the kids and go anywhere any time . On my last visit ,with the kids we were walking along the "strip" when shots rang out and cops were running everywhere and someone was killed just outside the store I had just left with my grandchildren. I guess it time to find a new vacation home because Myrtle is no longer comfortable for me,thanks to the THUGS, not the bikers. I have never felt UNSAFE or Uncomfortable around a bunch of bikers however I would feel uneasy about sharing the beach with a bunch of crackhead thugs with their pants around their knees.

None of you have a clue. I am the resident you are talking about. Apparently you only know about the new rules that apply to you. There is a big picture. Finally we have a mayor who is not afraid to try. You right it is all about black biker week oops did I say that out loud. If you have not attended then you know nothing. Please come back in a week. I ran across this sit when I was looking for informationabout what people were planning to do to us next week. Isn't that sad that I really do have to leave my home for three days to be safe. I really hope our visitors have a good time. I'm only three blocks away form Hw. 17 and it looks like the president is coming fencing and barricades. But as long as everyone can have a bike week who cares about the cost.

I hope that after the initial outrage at the mayor and city council of Myrtle Beach subsides that you will again come back to visit us in Myrtle Beach. The sad part of the boycott of Myrtle Beach is that the bikers who do so play right into the hands of the people who caused this mess. The regular people who have worked hard and saved so they can have a business at the beach and their families are the ones paying the price of a boycott. There was never a referendum of the residents that determined the majority wanted to do this. It was a few people who thought that being elected gave them the power to do whatever they wanted. Most of us are simply middle class people who are willing to work 24/7 to keep our dreams alive. As a motel owner I can tell you that most of us fought tooth and nail to prevent the ridiculous new rules. We objected at meetings, we filed lawsuits and these actions are working their way through the courts, but it all takes time. We all appreciate and understand the contributions made by the bikers. It is much more than just the money brought into the local community, but also the many charitable events that the biker groups do every year. There are a lot of innocent people who will suffer in your absence. Further we have had a lot of the same people back year after year and we look forward to seeing them like family. Their pictures hang in our lobby year round. Unfortunately the current mayor and city council were not elected to office with this anti-biker agenda or none of us would have voted for them. Many of the business owners also do not reside within city limits and thus have no say in who is elected.

The best thing you can do to beat these guys is to show that you will not be intimidated and come in greater numbers than ever before. The reality is that the police here do not even want to enforce these ordinances and are completely overwhelmed anyway during these weeks. In any case, if you are feeling unappreciated as a former visitor to Myrtle Beach and biker, rest assured that your business is appreciated here and even if you can't come back this year, we welcome you back as soon as the current mayor and city council get the boot. Elections are this year!

As a native of Panama City Beach, I can tell you that the locals LOVE Thunder Beach! More money comes into the town then than any given time in Spring Break. If anything, locals would like to see Spring Break go and Thunder Beach stay. The cops are cool, no hassals that I have seen (except for the FHP on Thomas Drive, what out for them). PCB police are very tolerant of bikers. A very small group of people complain about the noise (and everything else they can think of) but Panama City Beach is a great place to have a bike rally. Even though it is only 4 days long, many bikers come in a week ahead to enjoy the good weather, cold beer and stiff drinks. Not to mention plenty of roads to ride. Come see us!

The most important thing that can be done is for all bikers to go to the ralley events OUTSIDE OF THE CITY LIMITS AND DO NOT PATRON ANY BUSINESS OR HOTEL WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS. Let them count the costs of loss of income and see how that works out for them.

The Harley rally is not canceled and the riders are not going to New Bern N.C. But the black bike rally is going to be canceled. Their town Atlantic Beach has money problems and can not even afford to sponsor the event and many Black bikers have said that they will not go. It is true that the Atlantic Beach bikers have caused at least 2 restaurants that I know of, to start closing Memorial weekend because of dine and dash, no tips, mean, rude to employs & obscenity to the max. But never any of that from the Harley people. They spend big bucks in the nicer restaurants and tip great. The Harley riders are talking about bring many more people in their individual group’s, as to increase their presence. They will be all over the 60 miles of Grand Strand, where the rallies started around 70 years ago and all the Grand Strand welcomes them except for Myrtle Beach which is very small and never was a big part of the event. Then Horry County voted to take control of event & vendor fees, which caused more businesses to close up shop, some vendor to stop coming & the Carolina Harley Dealers Association to set up shop in New Bern N.C.
Where they planed on making money but none of the bikers will leave their 10day hotel reservations on Grand Strand to attend a two day parking lot event in New Bern. If you do not already have Grand Strand reservations then you should make them now, but make sure that they are out side of the Boycott zone (Myrtle Beach City limits). Do not fall for the disinformation campaign that Myrtle Beach Mayor Rhodes has set up fake web sites, and know the Myrtle Beach news media can not be trusted. Their stories are slanted and filled with misleading information. Five months of boycott and not one story about it. Last month the Myrtle Beach Mayor even told people that the Harley event was canceled when it was not and now they want people to think that the bikers are moving, and I assure you that they are not. So start looking at other links. The Grand Strand is alive and well, except for Myrtle Beach and Atlantic Beach. How ironic!
IT IS TIME FOR NEW LEADERSHIP IN MYRTLE BEACH.

Want to know the truth. http://www.myrtlebeachharley.com/ or http://www.myrtlebeachbikeweek.com/motorcycle_us_rallies1.html.
Read this and do not be fooled by the false propaganda Machine. The H.D. rally is still on with only a few changes. Yes they cut back on the number of vendors. And Myrtle Beach has a several new ordinances, but we are boycotting them anyway so who cares. All of you that have been here before know that the only part of Myrtle Beach that we will miss is Broadway at the beach and a one or two bars. Ok maybe for of five. But the rally is definitely still on. Please do not be fooled by this disinformation campaign that the Mayor and 200 of his friends have been putting out on the net. With the help of the Shambers of Commerce. Go here to read more http://www.myrtlebeachbikeweek.com/
But Horry County Council is actually helping us for dealing another major finance shortfall to Myrtle Beach. As if are Boycott of Myrtle Beach was not working fast enough, now H.C.C. has helped all the bikers by its unwillingness to just postpone their latest ordinances, which gives them almost total control over vendors, and out doors events. They have used these people’s own fears to grab up the money and power and there is no telling where it will end. This is not about bike rally’s as much as local businesses, all types of vendors, and out door activities. Why call this rally restrictions when it is everyone in Horry County, and year round that these new ordinances will be enforced. Money, Money, Money.
This will mostly affect Grand Strand locals, businesses, vendors, and event promoters.
So plan on saying good by to almost all of the special activities from the past. In the mean time the bikers are looking forward to what they are now calling a Commercialization free vacation on the Grand Strand. With tighter budgets, and some economic restraints, it will be refreshing to go to the beach and spend less money. Why waste money of things we do not really need. It is going to be, old school, the way it was in the past. More about fellowship, with out all the walking around in hot parking lots all day, wasting money on things most of us can buy tax free on the internet.
Yes the rally is still on. Only Atlantic bike feast riders say they are not coming. And 4 those of you that are angry with the mayor of Myrtle Beach you have to come just to show him that he can not get away with all the like. Please get the word out that the rally is still on.

Don't get the impression that the majority of the people of Myrtle Beach are against the bike weeks, because we are not. While it is true that the majority of the City Council of Myrtle Beach and our idiot mayor have done everything they can to try to curtail the biker weeks, the truth is that the business owners and majority of citizens are for continuing those weeks. We sincerely appreciate the business brought to our community by the bikers and the many other positive charitable events they are part of. A lot of innocent people will suffer if the bikers stop coming. We the business owners are working through the courts to have the recently enacted measures thrown out, but that takes time. We also have been organizing progressively larger events to garner broad public support to get these elected officials to see reason or get them out of office. As a small motel owner in Myrtle Beach we have welcomed the bikers to our establishment for decades. Many of our biker week visitors have been with us year after year and we consider them family and look forward to seeing them. On Sunday February 15th at 4:00 PM there is a pro biker event rally and strategy meeting being held by business owners, biker enthusiasts and supporters at Hoof-N-Finz in Murrells Inlet. While the business owners continue the struggle to get the City of Myrtle Beach officials to back off and let reason prevail, we would appreciate it if the bikers would continue to visit and support us. Staying out of Myrtle Beach truly only hurts the citizens and supporters caught in the middle as the city will simply raise taxes to make up the revenue loss. So by not attending the rally, you're just playing into the hands of bureaucrats and not helping your supporters in getting things back to normal. Finally, to any and all of the bikers reading this, if you had decided not to come back to Myrtle Beach, we still thank you for your years of support and fellowship, and hope that you will reconsider.

Hummmm, Not beating up the other events, car shows, around 4,000 loud cars, spring break, loud, etc, I truly would like to know the percentage of people who is raising hell about bike week, really sad, sure it had some problems. But remember Sparky YOU RETIRE in one of the most talked about resorts in the country. Bottom line it's not about the noise it's about who you know, power , money, and good old boys. That's sad.

" Triumph Wizard..You are so correct here…It is Black Bike Week that has ruined it. Hell they even had to get the ACLU and NAACP to file suit a couple years ago just because PRIVATE businesses were tired of the BS and would NOT open during Black Bike Week, but were open for the other rallies held there. Go figure!

I say we all get T shirts like Suck Bang Blow sells:This Shirt is Made of 100% Cotton…and you know the rest?

Boss Hawg "

SMH...... This clown is why bikers have a "BAD" rep. I'm all for relocating to FLA hey it's a nice drive down I-10 from Louisiana for me. Only thing is people will have to be made aware of FLA's over the top laws such as the side mounted license plate law. It's a $1,000 or something stupid. OUCH!
Anyway Black Biker Week or Harley Rally anyone on two wheels is my brother. Boss Hawg it was most likely your backwater moma who picked that cotton that shirt was made from.

Julie
It is unfortunate that you own week 20 the same week as the Harley Rally. Just how long have you owned week 20?----65 years ( I think not) thats how long the rally has been going on. When you bought week 20 don't you think it was your reponsibility to find out what events occur during the week you were buying. Sounds like another liberal, whining its not my fault I have to go else where
Sell it, rent it, get over it

I have been going to the Spring/Fall Rallies a few times & I've met some terrific ppl & I've met some real asses & the old saying is "there's always an Ass in every Croud".

My last experience was a guy on a Crotch Rocket doing a burn~out in the parking lot at 3am. I didn't have a problem with it until the smoke from his tire filled up my motel room while we were in our room with our door shut. We put wet towels under the doors and all. The smoke was so bad I couldn't breathe and my eyes were on fire.

I simply went outside & asked the guy if he'd cool it b/c the smoke had filled our room and I was afraid that maybe someone in his group would be rude with me. I just know that I didn't have an attitude when I asked him.

The guy actually apologized & helped us get the smoke out & to beat it all there room was beside of ours and we had no other problems.

I strongly feel as though ppl take bikers (whatever they ride) as a bunch of terrible, inconsiderate ppl & like I said before there is an asshole in every crowd but, not all ppl are. I also think it's all on how you communicate with someone in what you need of them. I would never have a demanding attitude with anyone to move there vehicle & is does make me wander if "Perhaps" "Julie" may have been in an aggravated mood & demanded the person to move & if she explained to the person her husband's illness?

BTW, to Julie, Our Prayers are with you and your family & I am sorry you had to deal with this situation and if it had been me; I think if I had asked the person to move with no attitude & explained my situation & management wouldn't help me then I would have called the police b/c of your circumstances. Afterall, you paid to stay there just like he did & yes it did come back on him 3 times fold as "Karma" is a very True thing. Treat ppl how you want to be treated and you can never go wrong!!

I have been going to the Spring/Fall Rallies a few times & I’ve met some terrific ppl & I’ve met some real asses & the old saying is “there’s always an Ass in every Croud”.

My last experience was a guy on a Crotch Rocket doing a burn~out in the parking lot at 3am. I didn’t have a problem with it until the smoke from his tire filled up my motel room while we were in our room with our door shut. We put wet towels under the doors and all. The smoke was so bad I couldn’t breathe and my eyes were on fire.

I simply went outside & asked the guy if he’d cool it b/c the smoke had filled our room and I was afraid that maybe someone in his group would be rude with me. I just know that I didn’t have an attitude when I asked him.

The guy actually apologized & helped us get the smoke out & to beat it all there room was beside of ours and we had no other problems.

I have to also agree with everyone. There are always 2 sides to a story. I grew up in Indianapolis not far from the world famous Motor Speedway of Indy 500 fame. At race time (the entire month of May) our population of 1 million doubled to 2. It was not spread over the area of a city or even a town. It was all packed into a 2 square mile radius. If you lived near the track you had to adjust every aspect of your life for a month of every year. Traffic sucked. It was noisy. Life was a bitch. The night before the race was absolute chaos. There were drunks everywhere, people as far as you could see, and the party never stopped. We just adjusted and moved on. They weren't gonna stop the race for us. It still goes on every May. I also understand it from the vendor perspective. I too sell products at bike events and I think it sucks that a bunch of bad apples have ruined a great thing for the rest of us. Maybe if people would act as if they had some sense and respected the lives of others (on both sides) we would not have this drama. Can't we all just get along??????

As a motorcycle-related vendor (LED lights), I am not going to pay to be where I am not wanted. There are too many other places that actually want us. WE WILL BE AT OUTER BANKS. I do feel bad, though, for the motorcycle friendly businesses in Myrtle Beach that looked forward to, and depended on, our attendance. Bikers are a resilient bunch; we will make it work someplace else.
