Guilty of drinking and driving?
Have you ever been guilty of the same thing?
Made a poor /stupid judgment call?
Have you ever been guilty of the same thing?
Living and feeling guilt/empathy for your choice?
Have you ever felt that way?
Trying to avoid the worse consequences for making a poor choice?
Wouldn’t you do the same thing?
Being in the public eye!
Can you say the same?
Will the public use me as an example?
Would you be use the same way?
Started out the day to kill a man at the end of the day, no way!
Both were drinking
Both were riding
Both violated the law
One lost his life physically
One lost his life emotionally
Aren’t they both guilty of the same thing?
Should of learn from previous mistakes
How many times did it take to learn from your mistakes
Some take more
Some take less
Wish the choices could be changed that day
How many times did you feel that way
I don’t believe he feels he is innocent.
I do feel he understands what happened was horrific and probably still can’t believe it’s happening to him. Do I think he is trying to do right by this? Yes I do. Would I want him off the hook if he killed my child? I would want him punished. But it does truly depends on which side you’re on? Both are victims. Unfortunately there are still people out there who stereotype bikers and that has to be a concern, whether anyone wants to admit it. How fair will the trail be? My daughter was injured by someone drinking. She was an innocent toddler . Fortunately it wasn’t fatal but I remember how I felt. As years passed I did make peace with the man. Some how, some way I forgave him because I knew his intentions were not to hurt her. Allhough I forgave him, I didn’t forget.

Cooldaddy, take the personal level to the other side…what if Billy Lane was your son or brother or best friend????? Would you be so quick to want to see him rot?

I personally just want to see this entire thing finished already. 2 years of listening to every person with a key board voice their opinion. I just wonder if most of you spend as much time talking about all the other people who have been killed by drunks drivers??? There have been hundreds since then, many bikers also, but no one give a rat’s ass about those cases.

As for the whole biker & cager BS… to begin with, every single one of you own a car or truck, so you are all cagers. It also takes alot more then being on 2 wheels to make someone a biker.

Ok here’s my opinion for what it’s worth.
I personally think Billy is a great guy, I met him about 7 years ago in Daytona and from that day on everytime I saw him he approached me and knew my name. I just think that says something about his character. As for everybody being pissed off at stacking charges, I can’t help but think that if this case was the other way around and a regular joe killed a biker you would want to hang him. That said my opinion about Billy never changed and I honestly hope for the best for him as some one said before there is no winners here and he has to live with this. I can only imagine the weight on his chest now. All we can do is learn from this.

Hey Objective Observer….what the Hell is the custom HARLEY crowd??? If a guy builds a bike from scratch & doesn’t use a single Harley part on it, how is it a custom Harley?

Tacky jewelry? Sounds to me like jealousy because you don’t have the talent to silver smith stuff. I supposed Paul Cox has tacky seats because you can’t make one out of leather yourself….

Sorry but I laugh even more at the foreign bike crowd. From the cruisers who go on their ice cream runs with their space ship looking bikes with a million buttons on their dash, to the crotch rockets that due stunts on the highway to the Euro bikers who wear their pretty colored matching leather jacket & pants.

The fact is, none of this is any of our business with this trial. It is between Lane, the Morelocks & Florida. Lane & the Morelocks have made peace with each other. No one else has an opinion that actually matters on this topic.

DUI’s are a liability to the rest of the community.
Under our system (right against self incrimination) he has every right to try an duck the charge.
Our system will decide the final result.
The community uses hard time to punish deviant behavior.
Stiff sentences are a deterrent (can’t drink an drive inside & lots of AA stuff is available).

But….
“…Billy Lane will be punished by himself for the rest of his life…”

That’s only relevant to him and the Parole Board (if he’s convincing….. not the victim.

Everything else (Who his Was, Is, or Will be) is irrelevant.

Too bad for both parties. it’s just sad that a man’s life was taken from him……..

I believe in the judicial system here in our wonderful country. Believe me when I tell you that we have a great system. I’ve been to far away places that the corruption is so bad that it stinks for miles.

We shall see what happens…….it’s not up to us to judge.

The biggest problem I have is that I would defend you if you were in the same set of circumstances.. I would strongly recommend reining in those runaway fingers on the keyboard lest they are too exhausted when needed most.
