Kirk.
Talk about a reality check! The Harlistas are enough to give any one sniveling over getting a barn-fresh 46 EL running, a swift kick in the ass.

I promise to go right out to the shop and perform Cotton's manifold leak-down test ASAP...... Well,
as soon as the temperature gets about what it is in Havana, anyway..... :-)

Seriously, http://hydra-glide.com/ has been a real asset.
Thanks much.

Our industry is filled with passionate, smart and creative people. We are certainly facing serious and long term challenges.
I wish Keith and the others good luck and look forward to hearing what they have to say at the show.

Anyone have any pics of the Cuban Knuckles that Lara Logan was riding on the CBS news? Any Cuban riders registered at this site? She looked pretty good in that white sleeveless shirt and bluejeans. The buddy seat had a stock accessory guard rail. No helmet law on the island. The footage looked like something truly preserved from the past. Harlista's promote "club life" by re-working old HD, and machined-down U.S and Russian car parts to keep Knuckle's running. very textured story if you got the chance to watch it.
•••••••••••
If you didn't, here's a link to Havana:
http://www.purecubaplay.com/harley.html
••••••••••
I wrote the author and asked if we could send a shipment of donated parts to Cuba to help these guys out. I've got extra head bolts and some other knuckle/Pan junk laying around. We might need to have parts sent to Canada or Mexico to ship to Cuba. Whatever, we're all over the world. We can get an address and set a cut-off date to stop receiving parts and a shipping date 14 days later (so no parts get stranded). We only want to send them parts they can use. Valves, heads, springs whatever you got. We'll find out the shipping container capacity and fill a minimum load to Cuba. They have our address http://hydra-glide.com/
Of note on space and time, is that as far as Cubans are concerned, Harley-Davidson® stopped building motorcycles in the 1950's. Because of this and Castro's news filters, the Cubans have no knowledge whatsoever of an electric-start Harley. It's quite possible that the word "Shovelhead" does not exist in their vocabulary.
The recent news upheaval of a Knucklehead society in Cuba is like discovering a tribe in the most-remote Amazon. I hope they peel the layers carefully.

Lets see now, the Kit Car industry also participates in SEMA.... (doesn't it?).

So, has SEMA helped them any....???

Just wondering, because Kit Car magazine has just folded, all current subscriptions are being converted into Hot Rod mag.

It takes participation to make an organization effective.

I think this is a necessary thing to do for our industry as a whole. I've already told Keith I plan to be involved as a member of this council and I urge others to do the same.

SEMA is a great organization with top notch people. I believe this will have a huge impact on our industry for the years ahead of us. There is no doubt that we will be facing many hurdles politically, environmentally, safety, etc in which we will be needing a high horsepower organization behind us. Thanks Keith for taking a lead roll and I congratulate you on having great foresight and taking a lead roll.
