that softail looks good in person too. it's a cool bike.

make the bike yours one part at a time, or go for the whole package. good philosophy.

i hope russ benefits from the multitude of these scooters out there.

i've been trying for years to convince the master chopper builders of america to keep it simple and cater to the market, rather than being artistes and complaining they're going broke. at the end of the day, it's still a business.

good on exile- best of luck, mate.

I think Russell is smart enough to recongnize that the days of people paying to have $40K+ custom bikes built are fucking over. Offering Exile parts that will bolt up to stock bikes is definitely the smart way to go. Otherwise, you'll just find yourself out of business completely.

Ahhh, bikes are now returning to thier custom roots, a donor bike with a good VIN, cheaper to insure, easier EPA stuff, it just solves a lot of problems for most customers. Sure there are always gonna be some big spenders for the elaborate customs, but the core of custom is and will remain, a factory bike with a quality makeover.
By the way Russell, looks good!

I think that this is pretty cool, Russell has the right idea. I believe that you are going to see more of this, people customizing stock H-D's as opposed to getting a "custom bike" for $20,000+ anymore. I remember seeing a guy by the name of Martin "Chubby" Rivera (I belive that is his name, and I think it was Barnett's magazine/the guy w/ the H-D dealership in El Paso but don't quote me on that) that did custom Harleys as opposed to building bikes from scratch. As time passes and the economy improves, then you will see high-dollar customs come out more and more but I think the custom H-D's will be coming out of the woodwork more for the next few years. BTW: will Exile Cycles be doing stuff for the Sportsters and Dynas? Just curious...
