The old version stopped reasonably well, no worse than what was offered by brake manufacturers a few years back. It would be interesting to find out if they are testing for DOT or TUV. I have to say though, There are alot of "manufacturer labeled" bikes that do not have DOT parts on them. I don't think "spikey footpegs, tiny turn signals, bobbed fenders, no fenders , small headlamps,and shorty pipes would pass DOT. So, I think the smaller custom manufacturers could probably get away with them We have all been fortunate that the "regulators" are not enforcing these on us, YET! ( Keep sending them doughnuts guys. I think it has been working!) Try passing a bike into Canada with Transport Canada. I had a bike tested a few years a o with a former employer, and they wanted a shake/dust test done on our headlights! Forget about the larger items, I don't EVEN want to think about it anymore! They are quite picky about things. I know it was a pain in the ass just to approve the single sided swingarms frames built a few years back.
