One Percenter. The Legend Of The Outlaw Biker.

Rogue knows much more than most of us about the biker lifestyle. For you, he reviewed the latest book of Dave Nichols, Chief Editor of Easyriders Magazine, photographed by Kim Peterson.

“I have just finished reading the book One Percenter – the Legend of the Outlaw Biker by Dave Nichols. I will start off by saying it is not what I expected but that is “My Bad” because I did not pay attention to the Legend part of the title. Having ridden for over 56 years, been the president of a large motorcycle club and even a one percenter for a period of time there is not much I haven’t been involved in concerning motorcycles. That is why I can say the following. The author did a real good job of informing the reader of the history that lead up to the Biker Lifestyle as we know it today. I DID ENJOY THE BOOK! It is informative and factual. If you are a long time rider you will enjoy remembrances referred to in the book. If you are a new motorcyclist or just interested in motorcycling the book is something you should Definitely Read. The more you know about the lifestyle will help you fit in and enjoy it”. Order it online by going to Amazon. One Percenter. The Legend Of The Outlaw Biker.

Thanks for the heads up on this book.

I am an associate pastor and rode with an outlaw club. I am in direct ministry (not a motorcycle ministry) to a 1%er nation. I spend much of my time training folks in the ministry before they have direct contact with the 1%er. Every 1%er book that has been published so far feature the violence and the “illegal” lifestyle of the past. The clubs today are “kinder and gentler”. But, “Don’t mistake kindness for weakness”.

I plan to buy this book, read it and if it is what you say, use it as training material for those interested in taking part in our ministry. “A wise man is strong, and a man of knowledge increases in power (Prov. 24:5)”.

    Rogue,

    What’s our take on this:
…. wrote her doctoral dissertation: “Women Who Ride: The Psyche of the Female Motorcyclist,” …

    RE:
“…Lisa Garber is a clinical social worker and author with a doctorate in clinical psychology. She has been treating eating disorders for twenty-one years. For the last seventeen years she has been riding her Harley, while wondering and writing about her attraction to the two-wheeled predator. Her musings led her to the crossroads where the union of Hermes and Bruhnhilde took place. It is from that perspective that she wrote her doctoral dissertation: “Women Who Ride: The Psyche of the Female Motorcyclist,” exploring the manifest myth of the female motorcyclist. Dr. Garber has been published in both biker and women’s magazines. A book based on her dissertation will soon be in print…”

A Phd in “exploring the manifest myth of the female motorcyclist”…….. Say what ????.

Am seeking information regarding the Dead Men MC, not to be confused with the Dead Men, Inc., allegedly originating around Denver, CO in the 1970’s. Would appreciate any assistance with my search.
