Racer: I agree with dragon. This was the way races were (and are) started on the street. As a person who spent several years filming for Shuffletown Drag Raceway in Charlotte (before developers got it shut down), I think most drag racers would agree that variety is the spice of life. That’s why your Door-Slammers and Pro-street cars (Shuffletown was an IHRA strip so those are the classes I remember from those days) use one type of tree sequence (pro tree, which is much similar to what they do on pinks and requires more skill to perfect on the driver’s part), and regular trees which are used by street class cars. I’m sure you know this. but maybe some readers don’t: the pro tree is a quick flash of all the amber lights (three if memory serves) and then the green. It’s very difficult to react to properly, although most of those drivers have a button that launches their car down the track when they hit it. The regular tree illuminates each amber at about one second intervals (maybe a little less, I don’t know for sure) and then the green, giving the driver a bit of warning before he has to get going. It seems like most of the cars I’ve seen on Pinks are quick enough to warrant the pro-tree style start (raising his arms is roughly equivalent to the amber lights all illuminating at once, and then dropping his arms is the same for the green light coming on).

Does anyone know if the All-Out series has ever included the OnSat Willy’s Coupe (Scotti Cannon), Jeff Hughes, Robert Hamrick or Eddie Hoover? Just a shot in the dark (I knew those guys from Shuffletown and the last two were members of the triple-ought club there).

finally… bikes! OK, so let’s get some more guys on there… how about Todd Silicato vs. Roland Sands (racer v.s his GP crew chief, now custom builders)…
add a new show called Pinks: Bikes and fer gawds sake… keep Scott Gillian as far away from this as possbile!
How about those crazy brit cats who race quads… or maybe old iron races… Panheads and Knuckleheads only…. that would be sick-o-rama!
I will be watching tomorrow for sure!

I don’t get that show. Why do you have a guy flaping his arms to start the race when they are at a drag strip with a proper Christmas tree and timing lights? As a drag race enthusiast I find it quite rediculous.
