Rogue, you obviously do not know what you are talking about. Most of the officers that come from out of state are not paid. They are on their own time and pay for their own hotel rooms. You might want to know something about it before you say anything.

WESH.com, FL - DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- At this year's Bike Week, thieves may think they got away with a great steal, but police are tracking them with some high-tech equipment.
The Volusia County Sheriff's Office is using bait bikes to catch thieves. Since Friday, four stolen bikes have been recovered but there have been no arrests.
Right now there are only a few bait bikes on the streets in Daytona Beach but that number will pick up throughout the week and police hope to make some arrests.

Someone might ask what happens to the motorcycles consficated?
Of course they are auctioned off.BUT to WHO?
Why is it necessary to bring law enforcement in from other states????
Florida has plenty of officers.
The reason is simple it is also a paid vacation for the officers from out of state.
Some of the motorcycles that are consficated are actually re-builds and turn up to Not really be stolen.
If you read the message it says Thefts Are Down Not That More Motorcycles Are Recovered.
So even with all the money spent on this how affective is it per dollar? How Many motorcycles are actually stolen and how many actually recovered? Give me numbers and Not Percentages!
It should also be a law that those consficating can NOT BUY The Items They Consficate!!!!
Lock Your Bike! Keep it in well lighted areas and just use some common sence.
Just a note: While in Sturgis last year I observed a person walk away from their bike with out locking the ignition. I brought it to their attention to which he answered Fuck it, It's Insured.
I am just against Cops getting paid to attend events and partying on their off time on my tax money.

It's good to see our tax monies at work with this. Too bad they can't do anything about that small group of idiot riders who seem to think they own the road and can do what they wish with their bikes.....
